Windows 10: BsOd on Acer Spin 3 after driver issues

I have been having driver difficulty with my Acer Spin 3. It cant locate drivers for the monitor and most anything else i try to install using device manger. Now it has a BSOD. I have tried CMD line to fix it. The code says bas system config info. I tried system reset. It says no changes were made. I tried restore aftwr clearing the read only attributes and it also failed. What are my options? I tried to disable recovery but i am not sure what the cmd is to do that.

BSOD- atikmpag.sys

This is most likely due to an installation/upgrade error with ATI driver's. I suggest doing DriveSweeper and the following:

• Drivesweeper all drivers & in Safe Mode
• Unistall all drivers that aren't used in DriveSweeper (CCC Profiler Updates, MSI AfterBurner, anything related to ATI that use's it's drivers.)
• After you do this, the first thing you need to do is go into Device Manager and Unistall your ATI Drivers

Once your done, restart the PC and then try installing the latest drivers.


I had several issues with this in the past, but I overcame it with logical reasoning and whenever I have a driver issue, I just use these steps and I always overcome the problem.

Acer reinstall issue

Had plenty of experience with Acer devices, been able to resolve all issues with the following steps ....

Clean install Windows 10 with Windows MCE

Run Windows updates (software and hardware) to exhaustion (i.e. none left)

Check for missing drivers ..... Control Panel > Device Manger

Access device support from Acer site, download identifiable missing drivers

Remaining drivers - download, install and run Snappy Driver Installer ORIGIN (make sure it's the ORIGIN version) - SDIO

Install ONLY !!! the required drivers (not any others, just because they're listed ... with installing drivers, it's always the case If it ain't broke, don't try and fix it). Required = missing or not working properly.

Uninstall SDIO (use Geek Uninstaller).

I would suggest to visit Acer to update or re-install all the drivers available for Windows 10.
Re-installing drivers removes corruption what helps improving system stability.

Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.

1. Uninstall Daemon Tools
2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
   • Double click the executable to open it
   • Click on the button shown below

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window.
