    BSoD on boot but only sometimes


    I have recently upgraded to a new SSD Lexar nm790 1TB, it is twice the speed and size of my last SSD Samsung 970 EVO 500GB so I wanted to move my OS onto it. I used cloning software to do this operation but now I often get a BSoD as I try to boot it. After about 7 hours of trying various things I decided to factory reset the PC. After getting past the BSoD went to do a full factory reset. After this factory reset I am still getting the BSoD quite often, the error code often changes, these are the ones that I've gotten so far:0xc00002210xc000000e0xc00004280xc0000098Using a USB to go into re

    ughhh! BSOD on boot

    I guess my computer BSOD on boot right before getting to windows. not sure what the problem is though, everything is stable.

    It gave me a list of two files in windows that could have caused the problems

    Hi Groggubus,

    Welcome to the 10forums BSoD on boot but only sometimes :)

    Please remove / disable items from the startup in taskmanager
    These programs could interfere with the boot process giving you trouble and increase the boot time.

    Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
    Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.

    1. Uninstall Daemon Tools
    2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
      • Double click the executable to open it
      • Click on the button shown below

    If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window

    Please follow this suggestion for the BSOD
    1. Please open BitDefender and go to the modules,
    2. Go to the firewall settings,
    3. Uncheck 'Block port scans in the network',
    4. Reboot your system <-- IMPORTANT
