Windows 10: BSOD on coldboot; "Windows failed to connect to the User Profile Service service" upon...

This has been going on pretty much since I set up windows 10 and installed the suite of applications that I make use of.

About 50% of the time on coldboot, Windows 10 BSODs for about 10 minutes. If I wait, it presents me with the logon screen.

Upon logging in, I am presented with a blank wallpaper instead of my background, and a cursor with the loading symbol looping infinitely. I let this sit for about an hour to test.

No buttons on the panel are usable and the Windows key does not operate; even opening Task Manager using Ctrl+alt+delete does not work.

The only option is to use the aforementioned hotkey to log out. If I attempt to log back in, the loading screen loops infinitely. Again, I let this sit for an hour with no luck.

So the only way out is to either shut down or reboot before logging in, or use ctrl+alt+delete once logged in to then log back out, and then either shut down or reboot.

Upon shutting down and restarting, or simply rebooting, Windows 10 behaves as normal. However, upon login, I am notified that 'Windows failed to connect to the User Profile Service service'.

I did some looking around, and found that Windows Explorer constantly crashes and is forced to restart when coldbooting. It then crashes again, is restarted, et cetera, resulting in a softlock.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find anything regarding said User Profile Service.

I've already tried Startup Repair; it can't detect anything wrong with the install.

Thoughts? Help?

Hello,

When attempting to login to my computer, I get the following message:

"The User Profile Service service failed the sign-in.

User profile cannot be loaded."

I referred to this Help article,You receive a "The User Profile Service failed the logon” error
message,

but the only difference is I only have one user profile on this computer. So, I can't login with another user to go through the steps listed in this post.

Any suggestions?

User Profile Service failed

To resolve your concern, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Copy the Default folder (in C:\Users) from another windows 10 computer.
• Rename the Default folder to something like DefaultOLD (just to keep it for safety reasons).
  
• Paste it in your Users folder.
• To make sure that you won't have problems with permissions of the "implant" folder, just transfer it via a FAT/FAT32 formatted USB stick (those filesystems don't have permissions).

This will provide solution to the error User Profile Service failed.

See if you may be able to use OPTION FOUR in the tutorial below to enable the built-in Administrator account at boot.
