    DPC WATCHDOG

    You need to completely remove the nvidia software and then install a fresh copy. I am unsure if Inspector has any effect (I have ATI) but you may want to not install nvidia streaming service as it is known to cause BSODS

    After upgrading to WIndows 10 i get Kernel security check failure

    I believe the problem started after an unexpected hang/BSOD occurred . I am in the process of acquiring a new mother board to fix that, but this happens upon boot randomly. Been happening only since this weekend, an exact trigger cause and steps to follow
    after are a bit vague.

    I am using a external SATA boot device, and installed Windows 10 about 2 months ago as fresh install, not an upgrade.

    Hi wzr7d,

    Welcome to the 10forums *Smile

    The reason why your system crashes multiple times, is because the system is performing operations with the SSD drive with some Windows files, but the system finds out that there are problems with the SSD.

    Please read this post carefully and make sure that you follow the suggestion properly!

    I suggest to try running chkdsk on both your drives to check if the HDD is not causing problems too, and check if SanDisk provides firmware updates for the SSD after chkdsk.
    Run following commands in an admin command prompt.
    Code: chkdsk C: /r[/quote] Code: chkdsk D: /r[/quote] For chkdsk to run it needs to lock the drive. For the C: partition it requires a manual reboot, for the D: partition it may not need a reboot.
    Run these commands in order, thus first chkdsk C: /r, reboot and let it finish, then run chkdks D: /r.

    Please note: chkdsk may take some time to complete. Do NOT interrupt chkdsk, it could cause more problems if you do.


    Once the scans are finished, please upload the chkdks logs.

    I ran ChkDsk and from what i can understand C drive seems okay while D drive has an error and bad clusters.
    I have attached the files, if you can highlight the issue clearer I would appreciate it!

    Alright.

    Some of your movies, music, ISO and programs may be corrupted. They are in a location where bad clusters are present and the drive isn't capable of replacing the bad clusters, probably because there are too many.
    Your best shot is to download the movies and music again and reinstall the programs, back up everything from the failing hard drive and replace it.
    With reinstalling I mean, install again but do not remove the original installation.

    So the main culprit is the 1TB HDD, correct?

    If I just trash the drive and install a new HDD will I be okay? Or would you recommend a new install of windows on the current SSD with a new HDD for storage.
