Windows 10: BSOD on login after win11 update

Hello Team,I have updated my windows 10 to windows 11 through the windows update my laptop hardware meets the requirements. The updated completed successfully however when I enter my password to login, I get a blue screen immediately before displaying the Desktop screen. I tried to Chckdsk but nothing solved the issue. I uninstalled the updates and went back to win 10 which is working fine. I tried to upgrade many times bout end up with the BSOD.I was able to collect the BSOD minidump before restoring back to win 10. its available here. https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=kZAXt3XZqx3xYcf

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to select the appropriate language in login screen at the bottom right corner and check if it helps.

Steps 2: Use On-screen keyboard in the login screen to login and check if it helps.

This is most likely due to an installation/upgrade error with ATI driver's. I suggest doing DriveSweeper and the following:

• Drivesweeper all drivers & in Safe Mode
• Unistall all drivers that aren't used in DriveSweeper (CCC Profiler Updates, MSI AfterBurner, anything related to ATI that use's it's drivers.)
• After you do this, the first thing you need to do is go into Device Manager and Unistall your ATI Drivers

Once your done, restart the PC and then try installing the latest drivers.


I had several issues with this in the past, but I overcame it with logical reasoning and whenever I have a driver issue, I just use these steps and I always overcome the problem.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
