  1. BSOD out of nowhere after 2 years of usage

Hi,I get BSOD and some errors in the event viewer about Kernel Power and TPM-WMI. They do not happen when full load but in random moments.I updated my bios so far and im doing some bench test on my dual 4090s so far so good with gpus, been rendering for 1 hour.Worths mentioning that I had to format recently win10 cause pc started acting out by maxing out cpu all the time. After format the BSOD started. Also some item in device manager was stubborn and wasnt recognised instantly i have a small hub which has a mic, wacom, camera and keyboard attached.I know there is not much to go on, but i

  2. Unknown Constant RAM Usage

    Hi,

To explore more on RAM usage by processes and see in-depth I advise you to open the Resource monitor, please follow the below steps.

    Step 1 :

    Open Task Manager

    Step 2:

    Click on Performance

    Step 3:

At the bottom click on Open Resource Monitor

    Step 4:

Under Resource Monitor windows click on Memory

    Step 5:

Click on Working Set to list the top process utilizing the more RAM and then evaluate RAM usage.

  3. BSOD issue after 2 years of no problems - DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION

    Hello!

I have run into an issue that has me at a total loss. My Google-Fu has failed me and I'm only a couple of steps away from replacing components until my issue is resolved.

    Hardware / OS

    • Processor - AMD 5950x
    • GPU - ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER AMP
    • RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws V 128GB (4x32GB) PC4-28800 (3600MHz) DDR4
    • MB - Gigabyte - GA-X570 AORUS ELITE WIFI SSD - Gigabyte - GP-AG70S2TB
    • PSU - be quiet! - BN924 750W
    • NIC - Mellanox Connect X-3
    • Windows 10 Home
    Symptoms

The machine has been running fine for a couple of years, about 6 months ago I started running into the symptoms below. I’ve tried troubleshooting a couple of times, but the issue has been relatively infrequent until recently, so I’ve lived with it. The frequency of BSOD and lockups has increased dramatically recently.

    • BSOD - DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION
      • Occurs randomly - sometimes shortly after startup, sometimes after hours of trouble free use.
      • Doesn't seem to be tied to load. Sometimes occurs at idle, sometimes under high load. Seems to occur less while under load (I've done 8-10 hours of editing with no problems)
      • Manual reboot required
    • Random lockups (not cleared by graphics driver reset)
      • This only started while troubleshooting
      • Running disk check seems to have resolved this, not sure if relevant
      • Image remains on screen, frozen. Manual reboot required.
There have been no changes to hardware or peripherals since I built the machine. It doesn't always manage to generate a minidump.

    What I’ve tried

    • Graphics Drivers
      • Removed with DDU and reinstalled new drivers (from Nvidia and manufacturer)
      • Removed and installed older drivers
    • Motherboard
      • Updated bios
      • Rolled back to earlier bios
      • Reinstalled all drivers
    • SSD
      • Updated drivers
      • No errors reported
    • NIC
      • Updated drivers
      • Removed entirely - still experienced symptoms
    • Memory
      • Memory test x 3 - no errors
      • Ran machine with one stick at a time, symptoms not resolved
      • XMP on/off = no change
    • Windows
      • Reinstalled from scratch with all new drivers
      • Reboot into safe mode - didn’t experience the issue. (however this doesn’t rule out drivers or hardware, I may have just got lucky)
    • Peripherals
      • Moved peripherals to different ports
      • Unplugged the front panel connector entirely - no change
    • General
      • Removed and re-seated all components
      • Removed and re-connected power supply
      • Analysed system files, no issues
    Where I’m at

I’ve not been able to rule out a software issue, but I’m beginning to lean in that direction. I don’t know why the machine would work fine for two years, then suddenly start exhibiting these symptoms.

I’m beginning to think it must be a hardware-related issue, but I’d really like to narrow down which component before I start spending!

    Minidumps here: MediaFire

Hoping someone can have a look and let me know what might be causing this! It’s a little beyond my skill set.
