  1. BSOD playing Guild Wars 2

New(ish) laptop, just a few months old and haven't had any problems with Windows 10 crashes since I got it. Recently reinstalled Guild Wars 2 and I can play successfully for random periods of time. I've had two blue screens in the last several hours while playing it and I haven't been able to ascertain what is causing the problem. Any help you guys could offer would be wildly appreciated.

Keyboard disabled in games - Bld 16251

Noticed the keyboard (Logitech G710+) is disabled in games (WoW, Guild Wars 2). Mouse works fine.

    Any ideas on resolution?

    Hi SeditiousJerk,

    Please update your VMware software

  5. Thanks for your reply. I checked and there are no available updates, I'm running the latest revision available.

Just as an addition to what I posted, I went and found a slightly newer network driver which I installed and tried the game with again. It still rebooted. I finally got into the menu of the game and changed all of the graphic settings down to minimum settings - I was able to play with no problem. I gradually cranked everything back up aside from AA settings and the game is totally stable.

Let's hope it stays that way *Smile

  7. Hey axe0, the problem has returned in this one specific game, so I went ahead and uninstalled VM Workstation and went and updated my audio, network, and video drivers to ensure everything was as up-to-date as possible. The weird thing about this is that the game only crashes in certain places. I have a character in a newbie area that CONSISTENTLY caused the machine to lock up and reboot. I was able to re-produce this problem about 7 times in a row, all without fail. If I log in to another character in a different area, I can play for hours on end with no issues. I've attached a more recent log from the crash - if you could take a look at it I would love you eternally.

Unfortunately there aren't any new crash dumps in your upload. Does the following file exist, and if so when was it created: C:\Windows\memory.dmp

It looks like the system is running into problems when attempting to create crash dumps, could you also post your current crash dump settings?

sysdm.cpl -> Advanced tab -> Startup and Recovery Settings

Code: Event[10002]: Log Name: System Source: volmgr Date: 2017-08-30T23:33:46.947 Event ID: 161 Task: N/A Level: Error Opcode: N/A Keyword: Classic User: N/A User Name: N/A Computer: Poseidon Description: Dump file creation failed due to error during dump creation.[/quote]

So memory.dmp does not exist or predates the new crashes?

  10. Sorry for not responding to that point, but the memory dump hasn't been updated in 8 days.

BSOD playing Guild Wars 2 [IMG]

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

    Addition:
If errors show up you can stop the test, remove all sticks but 1 and test this single stick in each slot for 8 passes or until errors show, switch sticks and repeat.
If errors show up and you see them a lot later, no problem, the errors don't affect the test.
