BSOD PNP_DETECTED_FATAL_ERROR on hibernate Battery Power only, no problems on power plug

Dear Community,When I send my Dell 5480 to sleep in battery mode, I reliably get a BSOD with an identical error code PNP_DETECTED_FATAL_ERROR. The error does not occur when on power plug. The system is freshly set up 1 week old. New elements are: 32GB RAM instead of 8, NVMe SSD 512 instead of S-ATA SSD 256.No external devices are connected. The problem does not occur in safe mode. The hibernation mode can also be called up in battery mode without any problems. The device manager shows some warning messages only in safe mode. In standard mode everything seems free of errors / warnings.Accor

  2. Battery drain in hibernation

This is a volunteers forum. We cannot fix anything for you!

I would start by taking these steps:

    1. Put Windows into hibernation.
    2. Get it out of hibernation.
    3. Check the time stamp of the hidden file C:\Hiberfil.sys. Does it reflect the time when you took Step 1 above? If it does not then the machine was not in hibernation.
    4. Before going to bed, make a note of the battery charge.
    5. Switch the machine off and unplug the power cord.
    6. Next morning, before plugging in the power cord but after turning it on, make another note of the battery charge. If there is a noticeable discharge then you have a leaky battery or a problem with the motherboard. Windows can't be the culprit because it
      was off all night.

  3. Laptop no longer hibernates on critical power

    Hi Mike,

The laptop's battery is possibly wearing out. Since you haven't change any settings, we suggest that you change the critical battery level a bit higher so that your laptop can perform a hibernation on a much higher percentage than the default. Follow the
    steps below:

    • Type Power Options on the Start menu search bar.
    • Under Battery, click on Critical battery level.
    • Chang the default percentage to 10% or higher.
    • Click on Apply.

    Looking forward to your response.

BSOD PNP_DETECTED_FATAL_ERROR on hibernate Battery Power only, no problems on power plug

    iaStorAC.sys BSOD on battery power

    Hi

My laptop (Dell Inspiron approx 6 yo) will no longer function on battery power alone. As soon as I pull the main power I get a BSOD and the iaStorAC.sys error.

I've replaced the battery and this makes no difference.

Can any one offer (preferably step-by-step) help?
