Windows 10: BSOD power_driver_state_failure 0x0000009f on cold boot

I'm getting this BSOD but only when I start the PC.
Happens a few minutes after I've switched it on.
After getting the BSOD and restarting, the PC will be fine for the rest of the day.
Have tried all the usual things - updating drivers etc etc to no avail.

Attaching the zip file of the dumps as required.

Really hoping somebody can help me.

Update: Contrary to what I said in the thread's title, the PC is also giving me a BSOD coming out of sleep.

Hello everyone i am having blue screens (driver power state failure) just when i am with the charger. When i plug the charger the mouse freezes,and then blue screen

I have already:

-Updated all drivers

-Put energy options on battery same as charging

-Enter safe mode see wich drivers have yellow sign ( monitor pnp generic) which i have unistalled ,the updated ( but windows says it have latest drivers)

-have latest windows updates

I dont know more what to do, i saw with minidumps we could see what is causing the error but i dont know how to read them and correct.

I upload them to drive,if anyone could help me i would be many thankful, i need it to university works.

How old is the laptop? This is an issue you should be contacting Acer about.

I will run memtest but as i said above, after the PC recovers, I have no issue with it for the rest of the day.
I would have thought that if i had faulty memory, it would give me further errors at any time.
Also, I had no issues running on the two memory sticks with windows 7 for 3+ years.

 

Hardware can fail suddenly after years of use.
That it worked fine for a few years is not a reason that it is not a cause.

 

Ran memtest all night with no errors.

Am attaching another zip. Hopefully you can read the dumps.

Spent another 4 hours trying to fix this BSOD. Starting to drive me crazy tbh!

The marked drivers are Windows drivers, this might point to the hard drive.
Please test your hard drive(s)
With SSD, don't run SeaTools but DO run chkdsk

Done the tests. No errors.

 

Please try following:

• Open an admin command prompt
• Copy/paste "sfc/scannow" (without quotes) and press enter
• When it finished reboot your system
• Open again an admin command prompt
• Enter sfc/scannow again

If sfc/scannow does NOT say "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violation" after the second SFC, please upload the cbs.log file located at {windows partition}\Windows\Logs\CBS\, if the file is too large try a 3rd party uploader like dropbox, onedrive, google drive, mediafire etc.
System File Check(SFC a.k.a. Windows Resource Protection) needs to have your system rebooted in order for sfc to try to fix the problems that it finds.

 

SFC run and got the message above.

 

axe0, I'm going to try changing my sata settings in the bios from IDE to AHCI which I should have done before I installed the OS! I have another thread seeking advice about this. AHCI - Enable in Windows 8 and Windows 10 after Installation - Windows 10 Forums

I changed the SATA mode from IDE to AHCI using these instructions:

and no more BSOD!
Furthermore, my SSD is now performing more quickly!
Win-Win!
