  1. BSOD problems - I want to rule out software / driver issues

Hi, I have been having BSOD problems for a while and I feel like I have tried a lot of things.I get either SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED and INTERRUPT_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLEDFrom what I can tell it seems to happen randomly, sometimes when no one is using it but most of the time when playing games, but that is the main use of this computer.I have formatted my drives and reinstalled windows and swapped components from my wife's computer graphics card, ram, power supply. Only thing left is my motherboard, CPU and hard drives, but these have been formatted and dis

    BSOD- atikmpag.sys

This is most likely due to an installation/upgrade error with ATI driver's. I suggest doing DriveSweeper and the following:
    • Drivesweeper all drivers & in Safe Mode
    • Unistall all drivers that aren't used in DriveSweeper (CCC Profiler Updates, MSI AfterBurner, anything related to ATI that use's it's drivers.)
    • After you do this, the first thing you need to do is go into Device Manager and Unistall your ATI Drivers

Once your done, restart the PC and then try installing the latest drivers.

I had several issues with this in the past, but I overcame it with logical reasoning and whenever I have a driver issue, I just use these steps and I always overcome the problem.

    Best of luck! *Toast :toast:

  3. BSOD: Windows 10 - driver issues, looking for solutions

    Hi Steve,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. Let me help you.

If you see an error message VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE with blue screen (BSOD), it indicates that driver related to Graphics Card stops responding or malfunctioning. At that point of time system will restart automatically to prevent data loss
and to restore the things to their default.

The most common reason for this issue is that due to incompatible graphics card drivers or graphics device is being overloaded beyond its capabilities. Please check and ensure that your system is running with latest Windows 10 compatible graphics card
drivers. Follow the below mentioned steps and see if they helps.

Try updating the Graphics card drivers from device manager and check if it helps:

    • Open run command by pressing Windows key + R and type “devmgmt.msc” (without quotes) and hit Enter.

    • Spot and expand the “Display adapters”.

    • Right click on the Graphics card driver and select “Update Driver Software”. When it prompts to choose an option
How do you want to search driver, then go with Search automatically for updated driver software.
If you have a driver available on your PC, then select Browse my computer for driver software,
then select the appropriate location, where the driver located on your PC for updating it. (Ensure that PC is connected to Internet while performing this step)

    • Once this is done, restart the computer to check the problem fixed. If it doesn't fix the issue, then Right click on the same driver and select “Uninstall” then restart the system and let the system install the
driver automatically on Start. Check and see if it resolve the issue. (Recommended step)
    Check if it helps.

Also I suggest you to install all the pending updates issued by Microsoft and check if it resolves the issue.

Keep us posted on the issue. We will be happy to assist you accordingly.

BSOD problems - I want to rule out software / driver issues

    8800GTS problems.

Seems pretty strange to me. I have a standard 8800GTS, the only problem I get is the BSOD nv4_disp.dll thing, which in my case I think is linked to heat on other parts of the video card.

I would suggest completely removing the drivers using Driver Cleaner, and install the ones that came with the card first. If the problem continues, remove again, try the newest drivers. If it still happens, underclock the card and try the same steps. In the end, talk to EVGA and see what they tell you.
