Oh, right. My windows 10 applied a long, painful update and some things reverted to default afterwards, so I guess dumps went away... :/

So far, no - the BSODs didn't happen when that particular port was disconnected, but it just might be my wishful thinking.

I'll report back once a BSOD hits - and keep that port empty, of course.

    That didn't take long... sigh.

Nothing was plugged into that port, but the HDD was plugged into the other 3.0 USB port.

During the days that NOTHING was plugged into EITHER of 3.0 ports, there were no BSODs... oh well, unplugging stuff again from the 3.0 ports for a final test.

    Crashed when playing Diablo 3

    Dump included.

No offense or something, but I would've tested all the USB ports in the end of the first page of this thread already

axe0, but I did test them the way you described *Smile

There are crashes when something is physically connected to the USB 3.0 port - either of them seem to BSOD. Even if the device is disabled.

I didn't have crashes for 3 days when nothing was connected.

It seems not to matter what kind of stuff is connected there.

However, this is.. well, quite grim. I can't replace the MoBo, and being stuck with USB 2.0 and no external HDD is absolutely miserable.

Yes, but not right away, if I'm correct I had to convince you to unplug the HDD *Smile It leads us to a few extra pages.
It is understandable, but in the case of troubleshooting it is better to follow instructions proper immediately.

Following your descriptions, it looks like the USB ports are faulty.

Well, sorry about that, I have most of my stuff on that HDD *Sad

is there any way to fix it other than buying a new MoBo? I'd lose Win10 license IIRC and that's just out of my budget.

USB ports are connected to the motherboard, fixing it would require
    • replacing the USB ports
    • for the high pro's, looking at what is damaged and if it can be fixed

Replacing the USB ports can't be done easily, at least I have no idea how to do it without getting the circumstances worse.

I don't see another option for you then to replace the motherboard.

    I see.

axe0, I will leave the 3.0 ports empty for let's say a week and do regular stuff like gaming, movies, music, work.

If I notice a crash, I guess that will mean it's not the USB 3.0 port, right? I will post BSODs in that case.

Oh, and thanks for all the help.

    axe0,

sadly, I just BSOD out of Diablo3 again... nothing connected to USB 3.0 ports.

Including the dump... SIGH... nothing seems to help.

Check every installed program for updates, in case of drivers that have new versions in an update that is better compatible *Smile

Please update or reinstall the drivers of your Razer mouse

Win10 has reinstalled many of my programs in recent update. I sweeped many today - all that had a 2013 install date, and most that had a 2014 install date.

    Looks like this now:

    Attachment 54076
    Attachment 54077

Anything from that particular list that I should try uninstalling?

I uninstalled Deathadder today and let Razer Synapse app reapply the driver after restarting.

More BSODs on the way, probably *Sad I never had a PC issue this persistent.
