    BSOD Randomly DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE ntoskrnl.exe and ntkrnlmp.exe

Hello, I've recently upgraded to windows 10 and I've encountered this problem many, many times. I've also done a clean install of Windows 10 afterwards, but the problem persists.

I'm currently on the Asus X550J Laptop, with 8gb ram, i7 4710 processor, Nvidia 850m (That disappears and reappears with crash), and an integrated intel graphics 4600 that stays.

This computer is 1 year old.

Also, there's also a driver that was previously Intel Xeon Processor E3 1200 v3/4th gen PCI Express x16 controller 0C01 that has the error "This device cannot start. (Code 10) An ACPI Power Object failed to transition state". I've went into safe mode and uninstalled it, now it's a PCI Express Root Port with the same problem. Reinstalling it doesn't fix it. This is only in the error mode when my GPU is gone.

I've also done the DDU thing, but still unable to find my GPU yet. I've done this before I clean installed, and reinstalled, but it was still goofed.

    please help, I'm panicking

    Computer Freezes without BSOD

I just upgraded my Sony Vaio SVE14A26CV to windows 10, and I've been experiencing computer freezes, and there is no blue screen, I have to force shutdown the computer. It happens randomly, but usually happens after 3-4 hours of use.

Despite not having BSOD, I did find dump files in C:\Windows\Minidump.

    Hi asdsadfas,

    Welcome to the 10forums *Smile

Please try to install the Nvidia display drivers ASUS provides.
    X550JK | Notebooks | ASUS Global

The drivers may be older, but that often doesn't cause problems with laptops *Smile

    Thank you for replying!

I'll try that as soon as it reappears- as I've said in the thread, it disappears and reappears with BSODs, and when it's gone the Intel Xeon E3 1200 PCI Express x16 driver goes into a code 10 and says a PCI Power object failed to transition.

I would recommend to do it now.

My experience with users waiting for another BSOD to occur is bad. The result was sometimes an unbootable system where actions were performed out of a rush making it sometimes only worse. Applying the provided suggestion immediately could have prevented another BSOD in situations.

The Nvidia GPU is completely gone- my system, Nvidia GPU detector, and the installer can't find any Nvidia GPU in my system. All the software is here, except for the driver. Attempts to go into the Nvidia Control Panel via Control Panel results in nothing. The right click Nvidia Control Panel is also gone.

I just got home- Where can I find the Nvidia Driver from Asus? I can't seem to find it in the Windows 10 64bit section, or do I get the Windows 8.1 one? If I do, do I run it at compatibility with 8.1?

That was also unable to recover my GPU from it's mysterious disappearance- PCI Express x16 is still in it's triangle ! form.

If there are none for Windows 10, take the 8.1 one.

No need for compatibility changes unless there is trouble while trying to install.
