BSOD randomly occur cpu can run only 1 core without crash

. I have 2 pc of Lenovo M93p core i5 and i7. the problematic one is core i7. I used to swap the CPU between 2 pc and the BSOD still occur only on the CPU i7 even with the new swap motherboard. But with CPU core i5 it runs smoothly with any hardware. One time, I received a message BSOD on a "clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor". Then I configured the BIOS to let the PC runs on a single core and the PC can run smoothly with single core mode. but now I should utilize all resources of the CPU. I configured the CPU to run all of the CPU cores and the problem returned.

Could experts help me out on this issue?

    :)

    BSOD System_Thread_Exception_Not_Handled

    Hi everyone,

My system crashes randomly (sometimes only, not regularly). BSOD appears and the Error message: System_Thread_Exception_Not_Handled. The interesting point is that there is no mention as to which .sys file crashed it so I have no clue why this happens
randomly. This crashes occurs two three times consecutively; the system keeps on crashing and rebooting on and on and then everything becomes normal.

    Please help

  3. IRQL_NOT_LESS_EQUAL – storahci.sys

    Occurred immediate after update.

History: never seen BSOD before now.

CPU: FX- 9370 : not overclocked GPU:RX-480 a sapphire Ram: Gskill 4 sticks of 8g HD: PNY SSD MoBo: Sabertooth 2.0 V2

Booted from harinsboot Usb to MiniXP ran disck program - no bad sectors.

Glaries Utilities- registry cleaner- found 180 errors and fixed them.

Ran malwarebits and other spyware programs and system was clean.

Reinstalled Sata driver multiple times, uninstalled and reinstalled. Also tried windows 8.1 drivers.

Still BSOD, at seemingly random points from working in excel 2013, remote desktops, playing overwatch. Usually crashed after 20-45 min of use.

If left standing alone the computer will only crashed every 1-2 hours.

Originally upgraded from Windows 7. Downloaded and created a install USB. Deleted and reformatted entire drive. Preformed clean install of windows 10, twice, successfully.

Computer ran without crashing for 1 whole day, until the most resent upgrade installed, within 15 min, BSOD.

Now crashing randomly again. Though now when the OS boots up after a crash, there is a notice from windows that says wattman setting where set to default after crash.

Setting where never adjusted from defaults. Insure if this is related.

    Hi comrade ,

There were 6 BSOD mini dump files debugged.
Some of them displayed WHEA 124 error which is very often hardware problems
The event logs display drive bad blocks and MFT corruption
The event logs display multiple Windows fast startup failed.

    1) What is the history of hard drive problems?
    2) What is the history of malware problems?
    3) When did you first have CPU problems and what system problems did you notice
    4) Had you had other problems with MB, RAM, GPU, PSU, etc?
    5) Are your files backed up?
    6) Had you made an image of the drive?
    7) Have you had booting problems?
    8) Have you been doing any over clocking?

    A) Create a brand new restore point now!
    B) Attempt to make a backup image of your drive using Macrium: Macrium Software | Your image is everything
The Macrium backup may fail when there is MFT corruption.
With the drive corruption its worth a shot.

Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:

    9) sfc /scannow

    10) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

    11) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

    12) msconfig (in the pop up system configuration > move the dot from normal startup to selective startup > uncheck load startup items > click service tab > in left lower corner check hide all Microsoft services > in the lower right side click disable all > click apply or ok > do not reboot)

    13) taskmgr (in the pop up task manager > click on the start up tab > click on status so that the column sorts with enable rising to the top > right click on each row with enable and change to disable)

How has the audio and video performance changed? Is it better, worse, or the same?
Continue using clean boot indefinitely to monitor performance.

    15) Turn off Windows fast startup:

    16) open administrative command prompt and type chkdsk /x /f /r (this may take many hours so plan to run overnight)

    18) Make sure that there is no over clocking while troubleshooting.

Sometimes there are problems in the bios that produce bsod.

The bios in your computer: BIOS Version/Date LENOVO FBKTCCAUS, 21-Nov-16

    19) Please check to see if this is the most up to date version.

    20) To ensure that there are no improper bios settings please reset the bios.

Sometimes there can be failure to boot after resetting the bios.

So please make sure your files are backed up.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

    Addition:
If errors show up you can stop the test, remove all sticks but 1 and test this single stick in each slot for 8 passes or until errors show, switch sticks and repeat.
If errors show up and you see them a lot later, no problem, the errors don't affect the test.

    Dear Zbook,

I tried to reset BIOS to default setting as your recommendation but after that PC got hang after few minutes without BSOD. I couldn't finish many steps after BIOS reset.

I tried one more time to "Disable" EIST (Enhanced Intel Speed Step Technology) in BIOS setting
Since then, I can use PC for many hours for today without BSOD or Hang..

Next week I will be back to continue the remaining step as per your advise to find out exact root cause of this case and correct solution.

    Thanks very much for now.
