BSOD randomly occurs while gaming/browsing etc.

    Hello,

i get a BSDO randomly while playing games or even surfing the web.
It happens most times when i perform multitasking like playing a game, using teamspeak and surfing the web.
The BSDO itself has no error code.

I checked my RAM with mdsched.exe and memtest (it crashed during mem test but mdsched extended test was fine) then i checked my drivers with verifier and it caused a BSDO on reboot, i had to boot in secure mode and reset the verifier options in order to maintain a "stable" system again.
So i think that it may be caused by a driver problem but i cannot identify the driver.
The first occurence of this was on 17.05.2017.

    Thanks in advance,

    :)

  3. Slow response while logging in, gaming, browsing etc

    Hi,

Thank you for the assistance. This has been very helpful, I used both methods but found the clean boot resolved the issue.

    Thank you once again.

BSOD randomly occurs while gaming/browsing etc.

    Hi Okami,

    Welcome to the 10forums *Smile

Noting the disk errors in your event logs, I recommend some hard drive tests.
Because of the situation where you may be unable to properly run the first tests, HDTune tests, I would suggest to use Win10PE you can get from Windows 10 Recovery Tools - Bootable Rescue Disk - Windows 10 Forums since it has HDTune preinstalled.

There were many minidump files and most were related to hard disk.
    The others were:
    atikmpag.sys
    rt640x64.sys

In the event log I was only able to read parts of the listings:

Event[16410]: Log Name: System Source: Application Popup Date: 2017-03-13T21:07:59.213 Event ID: 26 Task: N/A Level: Informationen Opcode: Info Keyword: N/A User: S-1-5-18 User Name: NT-AUTORITÄT\SYSTEM Computer: DESKTOP-C16LSPV Description: Anwendungspopup: Black Desert: Error while reading files. On 32bit environment, it could be memory issue.

Shortly, the hard disk is the likely cause, we only need to find out what its state is to say what the best thing is.

These are my screenshots, the benchmark wasn't executed properly and resulted in an "read error test aborted" message.

Today I received an additional MEMORY_MANAGEMENT BDSO.

BSOD randomly occurs while gaming/browsing etc.

Backup all data you don't want to loose, remove the hard drive and clean install Windows on a new disk. This one is about to fail you completely

My system (Windows) is located on another disc. So i don't have to reinstall it again?
I checked which programs were installed on that hard drive, then I removed the power of the hard drive and reinstalled these programs on my system disc.

For the HD test what do you look for when it reports OK to see that there is impending drive failure?
Is it the current exceeding threshold? or something else?

There were a lot of damaged sectors displayed on the image.

Should you use chkdsk /r if you need to wait to replace the HD?

BSOD randomly occurs while gaming/browsing etc.

SeaTools wasn't necessary anymore and would've given back 'failed'.

With HDTune, look in the following for
    Benchmark, speed
Error scan, amount of bad sectors present
    SMART, marked attributes
    - Yellow means that it is about to fail, in this case the amount of bad sectors are getting close to the amount of bad sector reallocations that the drive could handle.
    - Red means that it has failed

Threshold is the limit of a SMART attribute, Data is how high or low it currently is.
You'll mainly want to check the critical attributes, they give an indication of the physical state of the hard drive.

In situations where bad blocks are present where the OS is installed not, the chance of malfunctions is too high.

Else, it may be useful since there is usually quite some corruption present besides of bad blocks, fixing the corruption could buy some extra time.
