  1. BSOD reboot loop while playing BF1 System Service Exception

I was in the middle of a game in BF1 and my computer just crashed out of the blue, lol pun, and went into a reboot loop of BSODs. i tried everything i could in the system troubleshooting and advanced options menu, to include system restore, system image restore, go back to a previous build, basically everything but resetting my PC because i really didn't want to reinstall windows again (had to after initial 7 to 10 upgrade about 1 year ago).

i found a windows 10 installation usb and tried things from that as well to no avail. i finally figured last ditch effort was to turn off my overclock. I went into my mobo bios and loaded the default settings profile i'd created and my computer finally was able to load into the OS and got to the desktop. I went ahead and turned my graphics card back to default settings as well just to get rid of all overclocks.

i've never had a problem with my overclock before. my computer just did some system updates a couple days ago. everything i tried like system restore and all that told me it couldnt work or couldnt complete, but when i got to the desktop, a few programs were weird... mainly BF1 and titanfall 2 still had icons and files on their install drive, but origin didnt recognize them as being installed anymore. also, i use the built in windows mail program for my email and now that program won't open at all.

windows is waiting to install updates again, 3 this time (KB3205386) (KB3209498) (KB3152599). I'm reinstalling BF1 and titanfall 2, then running a full system backup, then plan to install updates and restart.

The main errors i saw on the BSODs were System_Service_Exception and KMODE_Exception_Not_Handled

mainly wondering if there's and idea why this happened and can i prevent it from happening again?

    Thanks!

    :)

How to get out of loop?

    Hello!

When booting today (5.4.2018) the system went in endless loop that has been continuing for hours. (I'm translating the following from Finnish.) The loop starts with this first announcement:

    - "Windows Insider Preview Version found a problem and it has to be restarted. The system will restart itself automatically." As a footnote: "System thread exception not handled."

Then the text disappears and a new text appears on the screen

    - "Preparing automatic repair".

    And then:

    - "Diagnosing the computer."

    And after that:

    - "The computer found a problem and has to be rebooted. The system will reboot automatically." As a footnote: "System service exception."

Then the computer reboots automatically. The loop begins again from the first announcement.

How to get rid of this?

  3. BSOD (System Service Exception) only while gaming.

    Hello,

I have been having BSOD's on and off now for about 2 years and have exhausted all options thus far. I have replaced almost all my hardware except motherboard, ram, cpu. I have updated all drivers, software and windows dozens of times. I upgraded from Windows
7 to Windows 10 last year and the BSOD persisted.

Oddly it will only BSOD while gaming at random times. I could play 3 hours without it and then poof. Normally I only get the error message "System Service Exception", but every now and then I'll get a different message like "IRQL Not Equal or Less".

So any help would be appreciated. I could send you my dump file as well if need be. Here is a little sample.

    Description:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000003b (0x00000000c0000005, 0xfffff80114164e22, 0xffffab8130dc7380, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: f182ef02-5df8-4759-b44e-e7d1b827752b.

The last 4 dumps are corrupted, one is empty (0 bytes). Nothing useful in the one from 12/17 11:16 dump.
There are BIOS updates for your system board available from the ASUS web site. You have version 2005, 2501 is there. Download and update, see if that helps.

    Attachment 113908

You also have some very old drivers:

  7. ok, i have removed the old drivers via that method i posted about previously, the motherboard bios is updated, windows is updated, graphics driver is reinstalled with a clean install.

wish me luck, i hope this doesnt happen again.

Thank you for your response Ztruker

  8. BSOD reboot loop while playing BF1 System Service Exception

ok so i have a new issue and i'm not sure where to put it. as far as i can tell, this may have happened as a result of this recent BSOD event, but i'm not totally sure. i havent used this computer very much since the last BSOD event already spoken of in this thread and i've just come back to it to find that my default/built in movie player, groove music player, and microsoft store apps will not open at all.

none of my movies that play through the windows "movies and TV" app, which is how i found the problem. my movies work fine, they will play just fine through VLC.

  9. so i just screwed something up. sorry if this doesnt belong here, but i feel like its a part of all the same problem.

i thought i remembered something i did from a previous troubleshooting, can't remember if it was related to this. i followed some instructions that told me to turn off most of the windows services in msconfig. so just now i went back into msconfig and under the "General" tab in startup selection, "selective startup" was checked and the first two boxes under it. i checked the bubble back to "Normal Startup" and rebooted the computer.

now the computer will not start properly. i saw the black screen with the blue windows logo and the white spinning circles at the bottom, and after that it went to a solid color screen with the spinning circles in the middle and it just sits there. I pressed my reset button and it did the same thing. i'm currently using my other computer.

need some help to fix this, not sure if it belongs in this thread still or a different forum.

Boot the Windows 10 install media then take the Repair you computer path. See if you can do a System Restore to before this happened?

If that doesn't help or you can't do a System restore then I would post this in the General Support | Windows 10 Forums and provide a link to this thread. I think you'll get more support for this kind of problem there.
