Windows 10: BSOD Stop code: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED What failed: ksecdd.sys

I'm receiving intermittent Blue Screen Of Death BSOD failures with the text in the Subject above on the screen. After analyzing the MEMORY.DMP file in WinDbg !analyze -v, we see this in the file:ExceptionAddress: fffff8041702c6e9 ksecdd!SspiDeleteSecurityContextAsync+0x0000000000000099 ExceptionCode: c0000005 Access violation ExceptionFlags: 00000000I have Windows 11 21H2 that was upgraded from Windows 10. Occasional SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED BSOD


Got a SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED BSOD. Opened the MEMORY.DUMP with windbg to see that the faulted driver was a Broadcom wireless driver (bcmwlhigh6.sys) that is not listed in Device Manager. So I thought I'd stop by here for some advice. The requested zip file is attached.

Hello mrag,

You do not need to turn on automatic updates. You turned this off to stop Microsoft updating your drivers. You can still manually update the drivers yourself at any time.

Looks like you have been successful in installing and keeping the graphics driver you want. Good work! I hope you are now free from the BSOD.

Perhaps keep the suggestions from DELL SupportAssist as further steps to try if you do encounter more BSOD events.

What driver versions have you tried currently for your graphics?
If it is the newest version, 361.43, try rolling back the drivers.

Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.

1. Uninstall Daemon Tools
2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
   • Double click the executable to open it
   • Click on the button shown below

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window
