Windows 10: BSOD stop code VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR during games or when HDMI is connected

Hi, I just got factory reset MSI laptop from a friend and from the beginning I was having issues with the graphics drivers. At first the laptop always used the integrated graphics and not the Nvidia GTX 1060... in addition to that I would have screen flickering, followed by the BSOD VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR, when I connected an HDMI cable.With another factory reset and reinstalling up to date drivers from Gforce Experience i managed to get games to use the 1060 instead of integrated and it worked for a few weeks if i didnt connect HDMI.Currently i get the same BSOD error plus another on occa

Stop code: Video_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR restarting computer





I have a coworker who keeps getting this message and her laptop restarts at seemingly random times. I followed all the steps from www.windows.com/stopcode yet it continues to restart randomly. It is an MSI laptop running Windows 10. I noticed (as in the
image above) that the Stop code is for Video_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR so I both updated the drivers and rolled back video drivers after updating them did not stop this issue. Does anyone have any suggestions?

i just installed a game ( Genshin impact) on my laptop acer aspire 7 running on windows 11
when i open the game the BSOD show and a error code of video_dxgkrnl_Fatal_error

 

Unpredictable BSODs with different stop codes

Yeah that part of the post was in response to the steps zbook was having me take, not anything to do with the reasoning behind connecting to WiFi. In his steps, he asked me to reinstall the LAN driver. Is the LAN adapter just the Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (2) I219-V?
