  1. BSOD When Clicking on Check for Updates

Hello!I woke up to constant BSODs this morning. I reverted Windows 11 to a previous update and it finally booted.Just in case, I verified for malware and everything is fine. I assume there are some driver issues as whenever I tried clicking on Check for Updates through Search I get a BSOD.I've uploaded the most recent .dmp file here.Any clues?

    :)

    BSOD kernel security check failure

    Hi meakashi,

Welcome to the 10forums for both of you BSOD When Clicking on Check for Updates :)

I would suggest to visit Acer to update or re-install all the drivers available for Windows 10.
Re-installing drivers removes corruption what helps improving system stability.

Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.

    1. Uninstall Daemon Tools
    2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
      • Double click the executable to open it
      • Click on the button shown below

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window.

    Hi,

Regarding your issue about BSOD or the Blue Screen of Death, we suggest that you uninstall the old driver first before installing an updated version.

To uninstall a device by using Device Manager, follow these steps:

    • Start Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound, and then click Device Manager.

    • Expand the node that represents the type of device that you want to uninstall, right-click the device entry, and click Uninstall.

    • On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK to start the uninstall process.

    • When the uninstall process is complete, remove the device.
Note With some devices, you might have to restart the system to complete the uninstall process. The device might continue to function until the system has been restarted.

After this step, go to the GPU manufacturer website to download the latest/updated version.
