Windows 10: BSOD when disabling Defender Real-Time or Cloud Delivered Protection. KMODE Exception Not...

Every time I try to disable Real-Time Protection or Cloud Delivered Protection Windows 10 is throwing a BSOD. Hadn't seen one in ages until this happened. Anyone else encountered a similar issue or know a fix?

Cloud-delivered protection

Hello all! I was curious as to what personal information is collected about me, if I turn on the 'cloud-delivered protection' in Windows defender security center? I have read the 'privacy statement' multiple times. I have already 'removed', if you will,
any and all allowed shareable content. I guess my question boils down to: Will any additional private data be submitted? If I activate the 'cloud-delivered protection', will it automatically turn on some of the aforementioned settings I have intentionally
turned off?

Also, the Windows defender security center (Under the virus & threat protection settings tab) says that the cloud-delivered protection "Works best with Automatic sample submission turned on". I have zero intentions of turning the automatic sample submission
on.

It is my understanding, from their 'privacy statement', that Windows will get my data with or without my consent, if they really want it. I would really appreciate any feedback from those who have enabled this 'cloud-delivered protection', and if any of
their settings have been automatically changed by Windows?

Any advice will be good advice.

Defender & cant turn on real time protection

Thanks for the replies, not sure why disabling defender would work? its running with an exclamation mark, when I update and reboot it ok for a while then the exclamation mark comes back, if I scan nothing comes up, but when I go to the Virus & protection
page

Real Time protection & Cloud Delivered Protection is off with a message that this is managed by your administrator (I am the admin)

anymore ideas?

 

Windows Defender "Real Time Protection" will not disable

I cannot disable "Real Time Protection" in windows defender on Win 10 Creator Edition.

I have a 3rd party security software suite from ESET with real time protection so I want to disable the one in Defender. I try and click the slider to "Off" but it immediately bounces back without ever going to off and remains in the "On" position. I have
disabled the antivirus software of windows defender in the registry but the real time defender toggle does not budge.

Anyone else have this issue or know of a solution?
