  1. BSOD WHEN DOING ANYTHING TO DO WITH GPU DRIVERS

    hi so i recently purchased a rx570 4gb and my psu was a 350w so it couldn't handle it. so i baught a used 750 scince it was the only one availbe in my budget IDK HOW. but anyways i remove my old radeon hd 6570 and my 350w psu to put in the new parts . It worked just fine except that the psu fan didn't work and it was heating up after long gaming sessions. I go for a 2 week vacation and when i came back to boot my pc it booted fine except when i was updating my games it closed not shutdown and won't turn back on. I trouble shooted and figuresd it was a psu issue. I swap to my old parts till i get a replacment psu no biggie right? wrong. I booted my pc with no drivers for my old gpu . I uninstalled my old drivers only for it to bluescreen me. then i boot into a restore point whoxh then i try to download my gpu drivers , same thing happens. I did this for around 3-4 times each time i get stuck in a bsod loop until it decides to bless me with the repair options. After that i reset my pc. so i decide not to risk downloading drivers as ik it will bsod me. the error code for the bsod is VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE what failed :ATIKMPAG.sys plz someone help as i am in quarintine and it is winter break and i was hoping to get to work on some games as i am a game dev student. THX.

    :)

    BSOD- atikmpag.sys

    This is most likely due to an installation/upgrade error with ATI driver's. I suggest doing DriveSweeper and the following:
    • Drivesweeper all drivers & in Safe Mode
    • Unistall all drivers that aren't used in DriveSweeper (CCC Profiler Updates, MSI AfterBurner, anything related to ATI that use's it's drivers.)
    • After you do this, the first thing you need to do is go into Device Manager and Unistall your ATI Drivers

    Once your done, restart the PC and then try installing the latest drivers.

    I had several issues with this in the past, but I overcame it with logical reasoning and whenever I have a driver issue, I just use these steps and I always overcome the problem.

    Best of luck! *Toast :toast:

  3. BSOD Windows 10 - Driver Verifier causing windows to boot loop and carnt get BSOD to find driver at fault. need help!

    Right, I have done a lot of testing over the weekend and these are the results;

    1. disabled gpu = BSOD
    2. removed gpu drivers and gpu from system = BSOD
    3. removed battery and cleared CMOS
    4. tried a old AMD gpu and driver = BSOD
    5. moved ram from stots A2 & B2 to A1 & B1 = BSOD
    6. ram a single ram stick in A2 = BSOD
    7. ram the other ram stick in A2 = BSOD
    8. disconnected corsair lighting node pro = BSOD
    9. sfc /scannow = no issues
    10. updated all windows 10 + drivers to the latest versions = BSOD
    11. enabled driver verifier = BSOD (creative video capture driver shown as issue
    12. uninstalled creative software and drivers = BSOD
    so where do I go from here? (other that throwing my 2k computer that's less than a year old out my window)

    some of todays dump data

    7 different BSoD

    Hey guys,

    I have a serious problem. I make it as short as possible:

    • system runs 100 % fine with the 10.12
    • updatet to Catalyst 11.1 -> BSoD
    • updatet to 11.1 Hotfix -> BSoD
    • rollback to 10.12 -> BSoD
    • removed ALL AMD files manually, installed 10.12 -> BSoD
    • Temps are fine
    • no sfc /scannow errors
    • no chkdsk errors
    • Prime, Furmark all fine
    • regardless what driver I install -> BSoD
    • I did no hw changes, no OC
    Here are my BSoDs I receive:
    • 0x0000010e
    • 0x1000007e
    • 0x0000007e
    • 0x0000004e
    • 0x0000003b
    • dxgmms1.sys
    • PFN_LIST_CORRUPT
    They all refer to the GPU of course ...

    From now on I receive a BSoD every time I try to play a game (especially BC2 and SC II) even if I completely remove the old driver and make a clean install.
    Apparently the 11.1 damaged my system irreparable.

    Any advice or info would be very much appreciated *Smile BSOD WHEN DOING ANYTHING TO DO WITH GPU DRIVERS :)
