  1. BSOD When laptop put to sleep. ntoskrnl.wrong.symbols.exe

Since upgrading to Windows 10 from 8.1 I have been having a recurrent BSOD when I put the laptop to sleep and once when restarting. From what I could gather from the dumps it is a ntoskrnl.wrong.symbols.exe error. Not entirely sure what is causing it. I believe I have all drivers updated. However, the ASUS N56VZ driver site does not have windows 10 drivers, so I am unsure if I have all the drivers updated that I need.

Event Log shows this same error each time:Log Name: SystemSource: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-PowerDate: 8/23/2015 11:52:27 PMEvent ID: 41Task Category: (63)Level: CriticalKeywords: (35184372088832),(2)User: SYSTEMComputer: Kilian-ASUSDescription:The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

No problems prior to Windows 10 upgrade.

Not really sure where to go from here.
    Thanks

    :)

BSOD When laptop put to sleep. ntoskrnl.wrong.symbols.exe

    Hi cunniff811,

    Welcome to the 10forums.

The crashes are mainly caused by the drivers from Intel Management Engine Interface.
Please check ASUS if there are driver updates available compatible with windows 10
Code: 2: kd> lmvm TeeDriverx64start end module name fffff800`c87c0000 fffff800`c87e1000 TeeDriverx64 T (no symbols) Loaded symbol image file: TeeDriverx64.sys Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\TeeDriverx64.sys Image name: TeeDriverx64.sys Timestamp: Thu Mar 13 19:21:52 2014 (5321F740) CheckSum: 0002B629 ImageSize: 00021000 Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4[/quote] If you get any new BSOD's, please use the tool again and upload the zip file.

  5. Thanks for the quick reply.

Thank you for finding that for me. I was (suprisingly) able to update the MEI through the device manager. The other 15 or so outdated drivers I have found are still a work in progress. As I said in my original post, it seems ASUS hasn't put up any windows 10 drivers for the N56VZ on their drivers page.

I have restarted and put my laptop to sleep a few times now and haven't had a BSOD today. I will let you know if I run into problems again.

    Thanks
