BSOD when playing League of Legends or browsing

    Hi,

I upgraded from 7 to 10 and began getting crashes when playing LoL and Fallout 3 and occasionally when sitting at the desktop.

I tried making a clean install and have subsequently had a few crashes.

    1. After trying to install the Windows 7 sound driver (W10 not available)
    2. After messing around with the playback device settings
    3. While playing League of Legends
    4. While on Chrome after restarting and finishing the LoL game in point 3

I'm completely lost here, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

    :)

    Whea_uncorrectable_error only when playing games

I've been experiencing the Whea_Uncorrectable_error BSOD when playing games like CSGO or planetside 2, but not League of legends. It happened frequently when playing the mentioned games on 8.1, then when I upgraded to Win 10 it still occurred.

You're saying you had several crashes, but there is just 1 dump file.
If you use a program like Ccleaner please stop while troubleshooting.
The dump files are necessary to find the cause.

The crash is caused by the Via audio driver, this driver needs updating
    Please check here for updates.

    Hi axe0,

Thanks for your help so far, I have updated my specs more completely now.

I hadn't really considered it before, but the last two crashes both stayed at 0% on the blue screen for quite a long time, so I switched it off. I will make sure not to do this in the future.

I have found the driver at the link you have suggested, so I will install it and hope for the best!

    Hello again,

I had a fairly long crash free period after installing that driver, but unfortunately my PC has crashed a few times in the past hour or so.

One of the crashes (while playing Rocket League this time) froze on the BSOD for several minutes before I gave up on it. The error was "KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED", but it didn't manage to dump the data.

I actually ran the dm_log_collecter file before and after my most recent crash, so I will upload both files if that is of any use.

Thanks again to anyone who is able to help me out here!

Here is another dump from this morning's crashes.

There were while gaming or browsing on chrome if that helps at all.

BSOD when playing League of Legends or browsing

I'll have a look at it tomorrow, I'm just back from helping a friend moving to another appartment, unfortunately this person isn't really organized so it took almost a day and right now I'm broken with body and mind.

    Apologies for the delay.

    I really appreciate it.

It's so annoying not being able to trust that my computer will stay on!

    Hello again,

I have still been trying to figure out what my issue is. I have taken one of my sticks of RAM out and ran on one for a week, crash free, then swapped the other one into the same slot and still didn't crash for over a week.

So I thought it was solved and was likely a dodgy RAM slot, or possibly a windows update type issue, but I just had another crash (with just the second RAM stick in).

It was just one crash so it might be nothing, but I have uploaded the dump file in case anyone can tell me what caused my most recent crash.

Thanks for taking the time to read this,
    Cam.

    Hi CamW,

It looks like there are only dumps from last month.

Please check {windows partition}\windows\minidump and check if there are any recent dump files saved.
Please make sure your pc is configured for small dump files How to configure minidump | Windows 10 tutorial

I haven't responded to this for a while, as I wanted to be sure it was definitely resolved, but the problem now seems to be fixed.

Annoyingly it seems to have been a problem with one of my sticks of RAM. It was very intermittent so it took a while to pin down.

Thanks for your help on this!
