    BSOD when restarting

Greetings. I upgraded to Windows 10 a few months ago, and a month later I installed a GeForce GTX 970, along with a new 650W power supply. I think this was happening before I got the GTX 970, but I can't remember... very frequently, when I restart out of sleep (or hibernation) mode, my computer will BSOD almost immediately. Sometimes it doesn't happen right away, it takes 5-15 minutes, and it doesn't happen all the time. If I shut down the computer completely, it happens sometimes, but seemingly less often. I'm hoping someone can decipher my dump files. Thank you.

    BSOD when restarting

    Hi loosenut,

    Welcome to the 10forums.

Please remove / disable items from the startup in taskmanager
These programs could interfere with the boot process giving you trouble and increase the boot time.

Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.

    • Uninstall Daemon Tools
    • Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
      • Double click the executable to open it
      • Click on the button shown below

    BSOD when restarting [IMG]

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window.

The reason why we cannot help you properly is because you are running the insider preview.
The symbols necessary for reading dumps are not released.

Cool, thanks. I uninstalled DT. The button was grayed out, so hopefully I'm good. I'll report back in a bit. I understand about the insider preview bit. Thank you.

So I updated to Build 10565, and the crashes are happening again, more often in the middle of doing whatever (web-browsing, emailing). Can anyone help me decipher this updated crash log?

    BSOD when restarting

Huh, where'd that come from? I removed it. I also reverted to Windows Build 10532, because 10565 was making Witcher 3 stutter. After reverting, it crashed again.Attachment 43456

It comes from the hosts file, but your probably know that.

I don't analyse the dumps, because you know why we can't read the dumps.
