  1. BSOD when unplugging laptop charger (iastorAC.sys)

    Hi Guys,

I have been facing this situation for the past four months ever since there was a recent updated pushed out by Microsoft. The windows 10 version 2004 has caused me so much grief since it was updated; the slow boot time, the sluggishness. But apart from that, I have been getting BSOD if I have a charger plugged and if I remove it. It has something to do with Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver.

What I have tried so far:

Rolled back before the windows update
I have also reset my PC( drivers and apps)
I have also tried to see if Intel has any updates for the drivers in my PC (Intel(R) Driver & Support Assistant) but no updates
I have tried to see if there were nay updates on Dell but nothing there
I also flashed latest version of BiOS but no help

These are the latest updates I have on my PC. I put the updates on pause because I was tired of having issues with every update Windows rolls out:

  2. Laptop won't charge after unplugging, charger is fine.

    Windows 10 HOME - 19041.450

    Laptop : HP 250 G5 W4M71EA
    BIOS VER F.45
    BIOS VENDOR Insyde

    Charger works fine.
Indicators show white light when turned on and orange when turned off and battery is plugged in.

Resetting BIOS settings to default makes the charger work fine until I plug it out.
After unplugging and plugging it back in it does not charge.

    What can be the cause?

    - - - Updated - - -

When closing and opening the lid laptop is detecting the charger properly but upon re plugging it's not working again.
The issue is that the laptop doesn't detect it's being charged while being turned on.

  4. BSOD when unplugging laptop charger (iastorAC.sys)

    Laptop freezes when charger unpluged

    Hi Phil,

This issue may have been caused by an issue with the Power plan settings, or due to a faulty battery.

To assist you better, kindly provide us more details by answering the following questions:

    • When did you start encountering the issue?
    • Have you made any changes to your computer prior to the issue?
    • Have you set up any Power plan settings on your computer?
Normally, a laptop changes its Power plan settings to Performance when charging. You have to make sure that the Power plan setting is set to
Balanced (recommended) or High Performance once the charger is unplugged.

Should you need further assistance, feel free to get back to us.
