BSOD's and system freezing

Hi,

The best of wishes for the new year!

Uninstalling SteelSeries Engine software didn't help. Still BSOD's on cold boots, and this one was while playing Elder Scroll's Online.

Minidump: 010218-8265-01.dmp

Full dump: MEMORY2.zip

Do you think it's hardware related?? Maybe the PSU or motherboard?

3. Win32kbase.sys BSOD

Hello Community,

I'm here today to ask for help with a problem that has plagued my desktop.

I have recently tried to play a game called "Elder Scrolls Online" and have experienced a form of a "Memory Leak" fallowed sometimes by a win32kbase.sys BSOD. (The Elder Scrolls support Isn't making any progress on this)

I fear that I've exhausted all my options at this point (Even a clean OS Install).

Please help me with this issue.

Thank you for your time.

Hi aDd1kTeD2Ka0s,

Welcome to the 10forums.

Please check {windows partition}\windows\minidump and check if there are any dump files saved.
The zip is empty of dump files.
Please make sure your pc is configured for small dump files How to configure minidump | Windows 10 tutorial

Please remove / disable items from the startup in taskmanager
These programs could interfere with the boot process giving you trouble.

Please move some files from Y partition to increase the free space to at least 10-15%.
Every partition needs at least 10-15% free space so Windows can do its thing in the background.

Warning Less free space could cause BSOD's .

6. Will do! Have configured the system to enable minidump, but no crashes ever since I made the change - that's a good thing, fingers crossed =)

7. So, I've configured my PC to enable memory dumps, but after a crash, they don't show up in %SYSTEMROOT%/MEMORY.DMP - not sure what I'm doing wrong ? I see a folder called LiveKernelReports though ...

Virtual Memory Settings: 24576 MB (On C: which is my Windows partition)

System Failure Settings :: Automatic memory dump @ %SYSTEMROOT%\MEMORY.DMP

Code: C:\Windows\system32>echo %SYSTEMROOT% C:\Windows
Please do the following:

• Open an admin command prompt
• Copy/paste "sfc/scannow" (without quotes) and press enter
• When it finished reboot your system
• Open again an admin command prompt
• Enter sfc/scannow again

If sfc/scannow does NOT say "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violation", please upload the cbs.log file located at {windows partition}\Windows\Logs\CBS\, if the file is too large try a 3rd party uploader like dropbox, onedrive, google drive, mediafire etc.
System File Check(SFC a.k.a. Windows Resource Protection) needs to have your system rebooted in order for sfc to try to fix the problems that it finds.

9. Code: C:\Users\Username>sfc /scannow Beginning system scan. This process will take some time. Beginning verification phase of system scan. Verification 100% complete. Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.
