  1. BSOD while playing WOW or watching streaming video

I recently upgraded to Windows 10, and everything has been really smooth, except recently I've started getting increasingly frequent BSOD crashes. It usually gives me the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error, but sometimes I get other ones. It was fairly infrequent, but last night it must have happened 5 times. I'm very frustrated. I've attached a mini dump. It happens most frequently when I'm playing WOW and streaming Netflix or Amazon Prime, but it's happened when I've been doing neither. I usually am able to figure computer problems out on my own, but this is baffling me. Please help!

    :)

  3. W8.1 IE11 "Play to" in W10 EDGE

I have the same problem. I used this 'play to' feature to stream my nba broadband league pass games to my smart tv as well as stream some video playing apps to the smart tv so I can do work while my son watches what he wants. I need to understand how
to enable 'play to' when watching stuff from my regular browser. Right now I don't know what to do.

Welcome to the forum Charles. A few questions to start out
    Are you overclocking?

Are you noticing any high temps?

Please fill in your specs completely

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

With help from @axe0 it appear you Daemon Tools installed

Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.

Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.

    • Uninstall Daemon Tools
    • Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
      • Double click the executable to open it
      • Click on the button shown below

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window.

  6. So, I ran MemTest and got zero errors, and my SSD came back clean. The rest of my system specs are as follows:

    MoBo: ASUS M4A89GTD-PRO/USB3
SSD: Samsung SSD 840 EVO 500 GB ATA
Graphics Card: AMD Ratheon HD 6800 Series

I've uninstalled Daemon Tools, hopefully that was the problem. For what its worth, just a minute ago, before uninstalling Daemon Tools, I got a BSOD while I was running nothing by Chrome and Outlook and it gave me SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION as the reason. In the meantime, I'm going to reboot again and see how it goes...

  7. So I had another BSOD just now with the SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION. I have uninstalled Daemon tools and made sure that the pass through was also removed and rebooted after that. I ran a new minidump and am uploading with this post. Thanks in advance!

BSOD while playing WOW or watching streaming video

  9. So, to answer your question, no, I'm not overclocking, and I haven't seen any unusual temps. So, as soon as I ran driver verifier and rebooted, I got a BSOD with this message "DRIVER_VERIFIER_IOMANAGER_VIOLATION (ndis.sys)" and then I had to go to the restore point I created to run my computer again. What does that mean?

    Hi charleshrollins,

Together with @Dude we'll help you, with permission from Dude of course *Tongue

That crash means that driver verifier has found a violation, blaming a windows driver because that was the last driver active.

Please remove the ASUS software, it is known for causing BSOD's.

    Feel free to help @axe0

Yes the ASUS software has been known to cause issues too

  12. I removed the ASUS software, but it seems odd that its been running on this machine since I built it in 2010 and its only now starting to cause a problem.

That is a reason for the hardware and driver checks. The computer will not run forever, hardware wears out.

  14. If only I knew which piece of hardware to replace...
