    BSOD Windows 10 New Computer

    Hi guys,

I'm experiencing random BSOD on my new computer and it's driving me crazy.
This is the rough timeline of events:

My friend helped build me a new custom computer (hes built a few before so I assume everything was put together correctly). Everything worked fine for approx 1 week, then I get a random BSOD - memory management error.
I ignore the issue and I get the random errors occur more frequently, finally getting into a non-stop loop of: BSOD on start-up, reset, BSOD start up, reset, etc. So I do a complete reformat and everything seems fine.

3 days later, BSOD memory management error occurs again.
I just tried installing microsoft office 2010 and halfway through I get a new BSOD error - system service exception.

I tried using the windows memory diagnostic tool to see if there's any memory errors but it doesn't completely finish. Basically it passes 2 times (with no errors cropping up), it appears to complete and the computer boots - but it never completely loads, the monitor is on but black. Thus I can never get a list of any potential errors.
The computer appears to run fine right now, but generally when I start opening more programs/installing things (I think?) the issue crops up again. I don't know what's wrong, but I'm guessing the issue is to do with memory?

    this is my hardware list:
    CPU - Core i5-6500 3.2Ghz 6MB LGA1151
    GPU - Asus TURBO-GTX970-OC-4GD5 4G GTX 970
    Motherboard - ASRock H110M-HDV Intel H110
    Memory - Patriot PSD48G2133K(KIT) 8G Kit (4Gx2) DDR4 2133
PSU - Antec HCG-520M 520W High Current Gamer 'Modular'
    Hard Drive - Sandisk Ultra II SDSSDHII 240G Q25 240G SATA3 SSD

I am by no means an expert, please let me know if you need any additional information. I would greatly appreciate any help.

    :)

  3. Win10 BAD_POOL_HEADER crash

Turns out the Dlink USB wifi adapter is what causing the bad pool header BSODs. Strange as I've been using it for the past year under Windows 10 without prior issues. Now when it's unplugged the computer runs fine with no BSODs, plugged in and it BSOD several
    times.

As it has no win10 drivers, I may have to buy a new wifi adapter.

    Hi, thanks for responding.
I just downloaded and ran memtest86 for 11 passes and it came up with 0 errors. What else should I try?

Be sure to genuine activate your system a.s.a.p.
Code: <ToolVersion>10.0.10586.0</ToolVersion> <LicensingStatus>SL_LICENSING_STATUS_NOTIFICATION</LicensingStatus> <LicensingStatusReason>0xC004F034</LicensingStatusReason> <LocalGenuineState></LocalGenuineState> <LocalGenuineResultP>2</LocalGenuineResultP> <LastOnlineGenuineResult></LastOnlineGenuineResult>[/quote] Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.

    • Uninstall Daemon Tools
    • Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
      • Double click the executable to open it
      • Click on the button shown below

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window.

Please uninstall Avast, use Windows Defender as alternative and test your memory.

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Hi axe0, I've been following your instructions and am currently stuck.
I uninstalled daemon tools, ran SPTDinst and it came up with the grayed box. Further, I uninstalled Avast.

However, I can't seem to activate Windows Defender. Clicking on the desktop app yields - 'this app has been turned off and isn't monitoring your computer'. It then directs me to check the app's status in 'Security and Maintenance'. But checking this, it appears to be on...
    I'm really confused.

Ok actually that problem resolved itself. I'm going to run the memtest86+ now. Thanks.

I performed the memtest86+ and no errors came up. I've just updated my BIOS and windows. Hopefully this resolves the issue.
