  1. BSOD with new 3D Scanning Device

    I believe this to be related to the install of 3rd Party Software "Creality Scan" for a 3D scanning device I have just bought.I have an AMD Ryzen CPU and an RTX 4070 Super as my GPU. I received 3 Display warnings in which 'amduw23g' stopped responding and successfully recovered, my assumption is that this is the graphics driver used by the AMD in built graphics. After the 3rd warning, my computer blue screened in a strange way Attached picture. A minidump file was not able to be created but upon boot the bugcheck was able to create a larger dump file. Interestingly, on boot, I also received

  2. New Version of the Kinect (for Xbox One) Driver and the 3D Scan app

    @Derek_101,

    Good, I'm glad it worked! Sorry you didn't find our website where the steps are listed.

    Pro tip: In the 3D Scan app in the bottom left corner. There is the word "Help" that is a hyperlink. Click on that and it goes straight to our 3D Scan website. The Camera calibration tips are under the section "Tips for best scanning results"

    3D scan feature in 3d builder just shows a grey screen

    Hi MrCharms,

    I've resolved the grey screen issue on my PC after trying everything that I can find from the Internet about this issue, by the way none of them worked. But I am wondering if you could give this a try, these steps helped
    resolved the issue on my PC.

    The Kinect v2 is controlled by two services: Kinect Management and Kinect Monitor. Do these steps:

    • Open Services MMC - either by typing 'services.msc' or by searching Services.
    • Locate the two services I mentioned and stop them. The services are listed in alphabetical order.
    • Launch the Microsoft 3D Scan app.
    • Start the two services I mentioned starting with the 'Kinect Monitor' service first.

    If the PC gods are feeling good, restarting those services while the Microsoft 3D Scan app is open will kickstart it. If it doesn't, I feel your pain, I struggled with this issue for four weekends. I hope you find a
    solution out there, good luck and happy hunting!

  4. BSOD with new 3D Scanning Device

    New Version of the Kinect (for Xbox One) Driver and the 3D Scan app

    @BRUNOBORIS,

    The camera app built into Windows 10. Type "camera" into Cortana and hit enter. Then just follow the steps I listed above.

    3D Scan has a Depth, Width and Height manual adjustment settings. They are visible in the app. They allow you to adjust what the Kinect sees. Anything that is in color in the preview window the Kinect can see, anything that is in black and white is not visible.
    Play around with the settings (slide them back and forth) to focus in on what you want to scan.
