  1. BSOD with windows 10

my laptop is now getting BSOD on a daily basis, sometimes twice a day, usually with the kernel heap corruption message.

    I have tried

    • the usual sfc /scannow shows no corruption
    • the dism.exe programs all report successful completion
    • reinstalling windows 10 using the create media facility keeping my apps and files
    • running mdsched.exe, to check the memory, but it does not produce a report see previous post although it seems to get most of the way through without showing any errors, the next time you look the computer is restarting but there is no report and nothing in the event viewer.
    • updating drivers...
    • running some older programs on compatability settings for earlier windows versions.

I have not made any recent changes to my computer or installed new programs..

should I go and get an apple laptop, they seem much more reliable?

    all suggestions gratefully received.

ps why is there no decent diagnostics in windows which actually shows where the problem is, these general error messages which can have a thousand causes are no good!

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

Unlocked Realtek HD Audio Drivers Windows 7 & 8 (With Dolby Digital Live and DTS Interactive)

DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .
