Windows 10: BSOD x2 upon shutting down and turning laptop back on, related to updating?

The last few times I've shut my laptop down, it first tries to install a Windows Update, gets to 30%, automatically shuts off. The next day when I boot it back up, it bluescreens and instantly shuts down two times and then performs a recovery to uninstall the update.

I've been scared to power down my laptop because of this. From what I've gathered it's something about the update corrupting, is it feasible to just wait it out until the next Win10 update or is this something I'm going to have to inevitably confront?

I don't think doing a fresh install of Win10 is an option, as I don't have any forms of the Win10 OS I can install fresh.



Laptop is an Asus that was custom built last year.

Intel Core 17-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz

32 GB RAM

64-bit OS, Windows 10 Pro

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660ti

1 TB SSD + 1 TB HDD

BSOD- atikmpag.sys

This is most likely due to an installation/upgrade error with ATI driver's. I suggest doing DriveSweeper and the following:

• Drivesweeper all drivers & in Safe Mode
• Unistall all drivers that aren't used in DriveSweeper (CCC Profiler Updates, MSI AfterBurner, anything related to ATI that use's it's drivers.)
• After you do this, the first thing you need to do is go into Device Manager and Unistall your ATI Drivers

Once your done, restart the PC and then try installing the latest drivers.


I had several issues with this in the past, but I overcame it with logical reasoning and whenever I have a driver issue, I just use these steps and I always overcome the problem.

laptop shut down while i first turn the power on after upgrading to win10

thanks for your help,

i follow the first step and didnt find any problem,

and then i boot my laptop in safe mode with network ,

it can successfully be shut down and turn on ,

then i leave the safe mode and turn off the windows fast startup,

now my laptop can shut down and turn on normally like it used to be,

but the problem still exist when i hibernate my laptop,

when i reboot from hibernate state , it still shut down itself after the windows icon shows up.

BSOD: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

Have been receiving a BSOD and I am hoping to get it solved. The error was stated as: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION. I have completed the steps in the "Driver
