any one having bsod after anniversary update. Microsoft edg don't work right games well crash or freeze and then bsod.

. at first I was thinking it was the new asus gtx1070 I got doing it so I took it back and got a replacement, still the same thing

  2. Driver Verifier BSOD diagnosis opinions?

Thank you very much for looking at this.

I followed the directions for uninstalling the drivers, and attempted to install new ones that I

downloaded from my motherboard maker, ASUS.
Unfortunately, they don't provide audio drivers for anything past Win 7 64 bit, but even though I'm running Win 10, I tried them. The computer would still crash when I ran driver verifier at startup and I had
    to use a restore point.

When I checked which drivers were installed, however, it seemed to still be reverting to the original ones that initially caused the problem. So, I did some research on my own and used the Windows Show or Hide Updates program to make sure VIA wasn't auto-updating,
but the issues persisted. So, as a last resort, I simply went to device manager and updated the audio drivers to Win 10 provided by Microsoft, but I'm still getting the driver verifier crash before the system starts. My computer is presently in this state.
As long as I don't use driver verifier, it doesn't crash at startup, but I bet it will after normal sustained use.

The new dump files are here from the trials above. I'm curious if they're all still pointing to the audio driver, and if so/not,
what other steps you might recommend?

  3. Driver Verifier BSOD diagnosis opinions?

I used the link provided and selected the option that says the BSOD occurred while using my PC. The link suggests checking for updates and disconnecting hardware. My software is already up to date, and rather than disconnecting random hardware, I was under
the impression from that by uploading the dump files from the Driver Verifier program that from

    this post
, there might be some clues as to what specific driver is causing the crashes. Is that possible to determine?

    Hi ocir,

    Welcome to the 10forums *Smile

Did you seat the GPU in a different slot?

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

    Addition:
If errors show up you can stop the test, remove all sticks but 1 and test this single stick in each slot for 8 passes or until errors show, switch sticks and repeat.
If errors show up and you see them a lot later, no problem, the errors don't affect the test.

    Did you run MemTest86+?

A quick look shows that the Nvidia drivers cause trouble, please seat the GPU into a different slot and cleanly install the display drivers per below instructions.

Please uninstall everything of Nvidia using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from Nvidia. Be sure the clean install box is checked and only install the Graphics driver and the PhysX driver, you can use this tutorial for the installation part *Arrow NVIDIA Drivers - Avoid Problems - Windows 7 Help Forums

I try to run mem test I save it to a usb
I go to bios and set removable device as first boot
but it keeps telling me to select a boot device and restart
do I need to use a new usb.? I reformat the old one every time
I well try the pcie 2 slot next
I never had this issue before the anniversary update

You need to choose the USB in the boot options, the boot order doesn't need to be changed *Wink

it dose not show usb as a boot option

Load the optimal default options in the BIOS and try it again.

ok set first boot to usb corsair but it still ask me to add a bootable device and reboot

Sounds like you're trying to change the boot order and not choosing from the boot options.

I go to boot devises make usb first and then go to boot order and see usb as first and restart

    That shouldn't be necessary.
All that needs to be done:
    • Install MemTest86+ on USB or CD,
    • Reboot,
    • Go to boot options,
    • Choose USB or CD,
    • Let the program run until at least the requirements are done.
No change in the boot order or something is required.

Sometimes changing the boot mode from UEFI to legacy is necessary, but such a BIOS change doesn't affect the boot order.
