BSODs still occur after in-place upgrade though with less frequency

Hello All, I have been having a lot of trouble with my system since around the time KB5005565 dropped, and I was hoping you all could help me take a look at a few minidump files to help me track down the offending driver/program/component. Background: I had been having many hard crashes since the aforementioned update, and did a bunch of troubleshooting as reported in my previous thread here which culminated in doing an "in-place upgrade" to reinstall all Windows components. It seems to have had a very positive impact, but I closed the thread too soon as I am still having the occasional hang

    :)

  2. Who do I believe- CPU frequency monitoring software?

The obvious question, how did you overclock?

Different programs utilize different readings. Some utilize the minimum reported constant frequency. Some report the frequency dynamically, as speed stepping alters the frequency dynamically. Some report the maximum frequency measured.

As there are different values monitored, all are "correct." As far as which one to trust, Intel's program was designed to show the information most beneficial. As such, if you want to know maximum frequency it isn't a bad place to start. If you want accurate dynamic frequency readings I suggest Speedfan.

In-place upgrade - XP to 10 without losing the apps

Wolfgang, you need at least two steps (Vista & Seven) between XP and 10, the Eight can be bypassed:
    • XP can only be in-place upgraded to Vista, not Seven or later
    • Vista can be in-place upgraded to Seven but not Eight or later
    • Seven can be in-place upgraded to 10
    • Ergo: XP to Vista is a must, as well as Vista to Seven but then you can bypass the Eight and jump to 10

    Memory Management BSOD

You may do this step by step until system become stable.

I'd suggest to reduce frequency to 2200 keeping timings the same and look at results. If this helps you may increase frequency step by step.
