Windows 10: BSODs "VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL", "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE"

Hi Writing here is my last resort and I hope someone is able to help me. I am a user of Lenovo Legion 5 15ARH05H laptop Ryzen 5 4800h with RTX 2060m, I am running Windows 11 22H2 22621.2506. I get BSODs frequently, they are not uniform error codes, they are intermittent. Today I got "VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL" twice, but sometimes there is also "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE". I honestly have no idea how I can fix this. Below is a list of things I have done so far: Update BIOS to the latest version Downgrade BIOS to older versions Installation of the latest Nvidia drivers GeForce E

BSOD DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

I sometimes randomly encounter BSOD with error "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE". I may encounter this error several times a day, but sometimes it may not appear in a day. I put here link to several dumps Dumps.zip

I tried:

1. Reinstalling NVIDIA and AMD graphics drivers using DDU
   
2. Reinstalling Windows
   

But problem still persists, please help

I understand that you are facing issues with your PC as you receive BSOD with the error code VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL. I certainly appreciate your efforts in sharing the necessary details to analyze the issue.



The VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL bug check has a value of 0x0000010E. This indicates that the video memory manager has encountered a condition that it is unable to recover from.



Upon checking the dump files, I found that the file dxgmms2.sys is causing the BSOD on the system.



I would suggest you to uninstall the graphics drivers and then re-install them from the

manufacturer website to see if that helps.

1. Press Windows key + R. This will open
   Run. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for ‘Run’.
   
2. In Run dialog box, type ‘devmgmt.msc’ and hit enter.
   
3. Expand Display Adapters.
   
4. Right click on the Display drivers and click on
   Uninstall.
   
5. Check the box Delete the driver software for this device.
   
6. Click on OK.
   
7. Do not restart the PC.
   

In addition, I see that there is a BIOS update available for the PC. You can also try updating the BIOS and see if that helps. The BIOS update can be downloaded from the

manufacturer website.



Note: Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from

VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL Windows 10 clean install, further new error DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

Original title: VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL Windows 10 clean install

I upgraded to windows a10 and activated it. I had a TON of issues with that install and in the end before I lost the ability to go back to 8.1, I purchased and installed a new HDD for the sole purpose of installing Windows 10.

I have the same VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL error when Windows 10 forced an update. I downloaded this tool as suggested:

I believe I blocked the driver download and while in safe mode, was able to install the old drivers that worked previously. I thought I was home free, until I rebooted.

Booting back into safe mode I can not see using the tool that there are any updates hidden or any to hide.

I am also getting a new error DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. This has happened twice.

The only way I was able to restart the PC was to disable the adapter in the Device Manager.

I'm fairly sure this is a version of the Nvidia 640M chipset and Windows 10 compatibility issues, but so far there are no solutions that work all the time.
