Windows 10: BT Fibre upgrade not working on computers all over my house?

So, we got a wifi upgrade to BT's fibre, and all devices except computers work with it. So, my computer still connects to the router and i still can use the connection, but the speeds haven't changed, whereas the phones and tablets are all showing hundreds of mbps. The issue is the same across 3 different computers in the house, two with ethernet and one on wifi, all of them with different ethernet cables, and even sitting infront of the router with the wifi laptop.No idea what to do, nothing works and BT seems to think it isn't their problem because the router is getting the connection we pai

Fibre installation

Hi Lem, I followed what you suggested but "Filter Current" never showed up as you said....I fiddled around for a while and somehow found it, (don't ask me how) but when I click on 'Wininit' there's nothing there...!!

I disconnected my new fibre modem and my PC started much better...and on one of the warning boxes it referred to a problem with 'newly installed software'....well, the new fibre modem is the only 'new' software to be installed....

I took pics of the warning boxes do U want to see them...?

Is fibre broadband a waste of £ for our situation?

You are not getting near the 'maximum achievable download speed' of 21Mbps, the IP Profile for your line at 13.99Mbps suggests you won't get near the quoted achievable 35Mbps for the upgrade package either. It seems that you may be a long way from the exchange (or your line is poor). That may not make the upgrade as worthwhile as it looks.

For comparison, my copper 'last leg' from cabinet to home is relatively short, and the cabinet is quite close to the exchange. I'm getting close to the maximum on my package.

There is no real negatives to fibre. Except I'd recommend going with Virgin Media as they have the best infrastructure for the technology, hence most reliable. BT is playing catch up with its Infinity service and is priced badly. I'm guessing Talk Talk are leasing the service from BT and adding their own discounts, this is well and good but Talk Talk have been known for giving rubbish technical support when things go wrong.
