  1. Bug in Remote Desktop Client for Windows V1.2.5105 when using multiple monitors

Not sure on the best please to report this but the new version of remote desktop for windows has a bug in the way it displays on multiple monitors. My computer setup is as follows:Screen 1 is my laptop screen, set to primary with a resolution of 3840 x 2160Screen 2 is an external display via a thunderbolt 4 hub, resolution 1920 x 1200Screen 3 is identical to screen 2 I have the remote desktop screen configured as follows to just display on screen 2+3: If I use any version of the remote desktop prior to V1.2.5105, then the desktop displays correctly on the 2 external screen

    Remote desktop multiple monitors

    Hi AsadJamal1,

I am an independent advisor and a Microsoft user like you, and I would be happy to help you out with this.

When you open the Remote Desktop Connection client on the demo PC, under the Display tab, under Display configuration, do you have the setting enabled for "Use all my monitors for the remote session?"

Also, does the demo PC also have 3 monitors, or is it a different type of monitor set up?

I hope this has helped you. If this is not what you are looking for, please reply and let us know and we would be happy to look into providing some different suggestions!

    Regards,

    -Ashton

Server 2016 RDS and multiple monitors for client

    Hi,

I'm trying to get my remote desktop across 2 monitors on my client laptop.

I have done the following with no effect:

The first method is directly through the RDP interface. Open the Remote Desktop and click the "Options" button on the bottom left-hand corner of the window. Click on the "Display" tab and tick the checkbox
that reads "Use all my monitors for the remote session" Once this is selected, you can then click "Connect" and proceed with connecting to the server as normal. If you would like this to be the default behavior for RDP, click on the "General" tab and click
"Save" before connecting to your remote server.

Is there something server side that needs to be done to enable clients to use multiple monitors e.g. policy settings?

We are on Server 2016, with Windows10 pro on client laptops.

  4. Bug in Remote Desktop Client for Windows V1.2.5105 when using multiple monitors

How to use multiple monitors with the new Windows 10 Remote Desktop app?

This question is not about the ubiquitous RDP client that has been on windows for many years, this question is regarding the new Windows 10 Remote Desktop app, which must have been packaged in an update at some
    point.

The app I'm writing about can be found on the windows store, and is suggested as a client on the second row of this page Remote Desktop clients for Remote Desktop Services and remote PCs - Windows Server next
    to "Windows Store"

I would like to be able to use both of my monitors at home while I am working remotely, to utilize the two monitors at my workstation.

The old RDP program that has existed for well over a decade has an option under the display settings that says "Use all my monitors for the remote session" which works perfectly well to this end.

Either the new client does not have this option, or I can't seem to find it. Does anyone know if there's a setting I've missed, or perhaps a workaround that does not involve stretching the window of the session to span both of my monitors?
