Windows 10: Bug? Programs and Features cannot clear filter.

The old "Programs and Features" (type "Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features" without quotes in the File Explorer's address bar.) has a search field at the top right corner. Before 1909, filtering was real-time, that is I did not have to press enter, but it began to filter as I type. As soon as I deleted the search text, it showed the original list.

In 1909, it shows a giant, coloured "->" button when I first type a letter, and it does not automatically start filtering. If I press the button or press the enter key, it filters the programme names, but pressing the "X" button does not remove the filter. After removing the search text, pressing the reload button or the back button do not show the full list either.

So, far I have not find any other way to show the full list other than closing the window and open "Programs and Features" again. Is this a bug?

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

 

Programs and Features bug where programs are listed as audio files

Every time I open Programs and Features, and the viewing type is set to "Details", the programs are listed as audio files. I restarted my computer, and I still see this bug. How do I fix this problem?

 

Clear Pagefile on Shutdown


I've been looking into clearing the pagefile, and I found the following steps at a somewhat dated webpage:

1. In the registry editor, navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
2. Set ClearPageFileAtShutdown to the REG_DWORD value of 1.
3. Restart Windows.

I'm just wondering whether those steps are still valid, and, if so, does clearing the pagefile work as advertised?
