Windows 10: [BUG] Some specific folder icons are not displayed correctly

Hi all,I would like to share an issue related to the icons of certain folders in Windows 11.The folders I refer to are:ContactsSaved GamesFavoritesSearchesLinksUser FolderI looked at the imageres.dll file imageres.dll.mun and I found that the developers put the icons in the 256x256 version but not in the others! In practice the icons of those folders are displayed correctly only when Windows is set to show large icons otherwise it displays the simple folder icon. Here you can see a picture of this:On the right of the image, I have inserted the Fonts folder icon. It is represented correctly i

Icons from apps aren´t displayed correctly

Do the apps work fine apart form the icons not displaying correctly? If so I would suggest you to run an SFC scan and check if it helps. If the issue persists you may run DISM command and check.

Follow this steps:

    Press Windows+X.
    
  • 
    Click on Command Prompt (Admin).
    
  • 
    Type the command SFC /SCANNOW and
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and hit
    Enter.

How to make vista display same icon size for all opened folders in explorer ?

i dont think this answers the question , how do i make all icons in all folders appear "Large Icons" .

Deleted icons stay on desktop (not in desktop folder)

I can only suggest that you
1 Add a list of steps you have already taken.
2 Add a comment about restarting the computer. Do the deleted icons disappear then?
2 Add a comment explaining if any Desktop items do delete correctly and whether or not there are any significant differences between those that do delete correctly and those that don't.
3 Add a list of any OS tweaks you have done & any third-party OS-related utilities you have run.

I assume you have already reinstalled your display driver.
I don't see a Repair install as being relevant. Repair Install - TenForumsTutorials
