Windows 10: Bug when trying to access C:\Users\<user-name>\Desktop when in C:\ Drive. Acts different...

When I open Paint and then save the image on C:\Users\harry\Desktop and then when i open paint again and click C:\ drive shortcut on the left panel of the "open image" window, and then paste the link C:\Users\harry\Desktop in address bar, it redirects me to C:\Users\harry\OneDrive\Desktop. Where ofcourse the image is not there because I stored it on C:\Users\harry\Desktop. So there is no way for me to access this directory. Unless I manually click through the folders from C:\ to Users to harry to Desktop. Another workaround is to click the D:\ drive on the left panel of the "open image" window

User's folder is not present in c:\\Users

Putting aside your somewhat random use of forward, backward, and double slashes, please explain the difference between:

• In Windows 7 Window Explorer, one cannot view the UserName folder
  in c:\\Users

and

• UserName folder, normally viewable from c://Users, can be still be viewed and fully accessed from UserName's Desktop
  via Window's Explorer

Click Start, type C:\Users into the Search box, and press Enter

Please list everything you see. If you would rather not reveal actual user names, use UserA, UserB, UserC, etc. Please mention whether view hidden files and folders is enabled or not.

Is the name of one (or more) users missing from the list of items?

Navigate to any document in the "UserName folder" that you can't see in C:\Users, then right-click and select Properties.

What is shown as the document's "Location"? Again, if you want to use UserA rather than the actual name, that's OK.

 

c:\users\username\desktop is not accessible

This is bugging me so I'll point out that the error message says "C:\C:\Users... is not accessible" where the path should be "C:\Users...", one C: only. I don't know why the system would be calling that wrong path. Maybe someone knows.

Try sfc /scannow?

Thank you - it was bugging me too that it's c:\c:\ and not c:\users. I tried your suggestion and thought it worked when it found a few corrupt files but once I rebooted I got the same messsage
