  1. Buggy Realtek HD Audio Drivers (Maybe)

On my laptop with Windows 10 I am constantly getting weird audio related bugs which include:

    • Headphones not working on Windows startup. Re-plugging them fixes the issue but it's getting annoying to do it daily. AUX port seems fine, it is not an issue with headphones itself either.
    • Sometimes after re-plugging it doesn't detect headphones, laptop speakers play sounds instead.
    • Random robotic/crackling/popping sounds. Happens mostly at certain frequencies of sound (for example when someone is speaking in a video, certain sounds become crackling). Restarting computer fixes this issue.

Searched across forums and it seems it is an issue with Realtek HD Audio Drivers. Some months ago downloaded certain specific version of said drivers and all of the issues were fixed but after some time Windows decided to "update" these drivers and I've lost them.

So far tried doing these things:

    • In Device Manager, rolled back Realtek HD Audio drivers to an old version - same issues.
    • In Device Manager, updated said drivers by "searching automatically for drivers" - same issues.
    • In Device Manager, deleted Realtek HD Audio drivers and reinstalled newest ones found online - reduced frequency of issues but didn't remove them completely.
    • Tried using some sort of default Microsoft sound drivers - worked for some time but issues reappeared, I think Windows updates installed Realtek HD Audio drivers once again.
    • Used various Windows troubleshooters - didn't find any issues.
    • As mentioned before, installed some version of Realtek HD Audio drivers - fixed all issues but lost said drivers after update.

Does anyone else have same (or similar) issues and know what the cause could be? I'm kinda lost at this point, got used to it even though it's hella annoying, especially as most of issues get fixed with restarting and my Windows are installed on HDD, rebooting takes about 3 decades to get back to working form. Any help would be appreciated.

    3. Find Realtek High Definition Audio
    4. Right click and hit update driver
    5. Browse my computer for driver software
    6. Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
    7. Click Have Disk and hit browse
    8. Click on the Realtek HD Audio mod folder and look for win64
    9. Click on the HDXRT4 and click ok,
    10. Click Next and Yes
After it is done, restart the PC

You should be good then and also make sure before doing these steps that you have driver enforcement disabled.
