  1. Built a new PC with the same Hard Drive as my old one and need help reactivating windows 10...

I have had Windows 10 for over 6 years on my PC, Intel i7 3770k and it recently broke down so I decided to order parts to build my own PC. I then took the hard drive out (WITH WINDOWS 10) and I put it in my new PC. Everything turned on, I logged in to do a clean wipe so everythings new and fresh, the reset told me "Windows will reinstall" (RECOMMENDED) and everything turned on and when I logged in. Windows 10 Completely disappeared and says I need to activate it, troubleshooting didn't work, I have so much proof that I upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 10 on my PC. From the sticker on the case, and my account that I am using right now has had Windows 10 all over and it still refuses to let me activate my Windows 10, please I need help reactivating the thing I paid for...

    :)

  2. Can't reactivate Windows 10 from new PC build using old hard drive reformated.

This is quite a mess, but here goes... Recently the motherboard on my PC failed. At the time, I had already decided to purchase a laptop, which I did. While I was waiting for my laptop to be delivered, I removed the hard drive from my bad pc and installed
it in my older pc so I could continue to work. At that time I was prompted to reactivate Windows 10, which I did successfully. I continued to use this computer till I received my laptop, at which time I removed the hard drive from my old computer and copied
some of my work files to my laptop. At that time I activated the new laptop with the pre-installed Windows 10, and I may have signed in with my same account.

Immediately after using the laptop I realized I wanted to build a new desk top, screen was too small, couldn't game, etc. So I ordered all the parts and assembled the new PC using the old hard drive, my old ps and my old graphics card. However, I had issues
with Windows booting. I was recommended to me, and I did reformat the hard drive and re-installed windows from a flash drive copy back up version I created when I first upgraded to Windows 10 on my old PC. This worked great, however it again wants me to reactivate
Windows 10. When I try to do this it tells me my account is not connected to the device. When I check the devices listed to my account, it only shows my laptop, and I get the information:

Edition doesn't match: Windows edition on the devices listed below don't match the Windows edition on the device you're using right now. (which would be my new pc build with old hard drive)

Device type doesn't match: The devices listed below don't match the type of device you're using right now.

Is this because I signed on to my windows account on my laptop, therefore registering my previous Windows app to my laptop? I did use the same password.

Is it because I installed window10 pro instead of Home? Windows 10 Pro is what I was using on my old PC.

I've tried to change my password, but the only one that will work is my old one and it just keeps bringing up my laptop?

    Any advice?

  3. Old internal hard drive [with OS in it] not detected and not bootable in new PC

    Hello,

I just built a a new PC and I wanted to plug my old hard drive to it so I can transfer my files to a new SSD.

My old hard drive runs fine in my old PC, running windows 8. But when I plugged it to my new PC I can't boot from it and it doesn't appear in the boot menu, but it still appears in the BIOS menu.

I tried different cables and tested the cables with a new hard drive and it worked fine with the new one.

It doesn't even appear in the Disk Manager.

It is an old hard drive that's been with me for years, a 1TB Seagate Baracuda, the old "skinnier" kind if you may. The new hard drive is much thicker than it.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Thank you.
