Windows 10: built in camera does not work.

I have checked the camera details in settings, everything is "on" but the camera , if there is one? doesn't work. I have been using a remote camera via a usb for skype but checking for a problem with the sound, accidentally found camera in settings and a reference to "last used on skype 21st December 2020". I don't know if this refers to the remote camera or the camera on the computer. This is a Dell computer cost over a grand 3 years ago so ti should have a camera shouldn't it?

I am not a computer buff as you can guess!
