Four years ago I bought all my components and built my PC, and not until today did I realize I bought/installed Windows 10 Home OEM edition. I was looking to upgrade my motherboard and CPU soon, but with having purchased and installed the OEM Windows 10 Home edition, will I be able transfer this license to a new motherboard and CPU, when the boot drive stays the same and I log into my Windows account upon boot with new Motherboard and CPU?

    :)

  2. Upgrading my Motherboard and CPU

Ok here is my question. I built a custom PC about 6 months ago and I bought a retail copy of Windows 10. Now I would like to upgrade my Motherboard and CPU. Can anyone tell me the steps I need to take. I have my product key from when I bought Windows
10, 6 months ago. I was thinking if I just format my boot drive that would take care of it, but I am not sure, please help???

    Upgrading Motherboard and CPU

I bought a default Lenovo K450 a few years back that came with Windows 8 preinstalled. Well over the past few months I've upgraded the PSU, GPU, and moved too an SSD without much of a hassle since I was using the same motherboard and CPU. Well, I'm moving
too a whole new upgrade and changing the case, motherboard, CPU, and adding a network card. My question is, once I've changed out all of the parts, will I need to reinstall Windows 8, or can I just install Windows 10 again like normal and follow the steps
with customer support to establish the legitimacy of my previous Windows OS? I have the OEM and Product Key.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas (& Upgrade!)

    Dear Santa,

I want to upgrade my primary PC this year, my MB/CPU is almost 5 years old now, and I've got the upgrade itch.

It's going to be built around an unlocked Ivy Bridge CPU, namely the 3770k

But first, I've got a few questions for you:

    • What chipsets support that CPU? I think the X79 and X77?
    • Is the 3770k going to be replaced with a better model, better stepping, etc in 2012 or early 2013?
Oh and is the world going to end in Dec 2012?

    Thx,
    Little Johnny
