So is TH2 really on for tomorrow?

If it is it just makes me wonder why any Insider would opt for the Slow Ring given that they would get a max of 24 hours before the final.

Could be wrong, but I'm thinking Windows Insiders with builds later than 10240 won't get the update when it comes out tomorrow.

I hope this upgrade will bring the Edge browser into the current century. Or at least a "back" button that works like modern browsers.

Build 10576 had Edge ver. 25.1 so does Build 10586 so don't expect too much in the Edge department (someone tell me I'm wrong) *sarc

  6. You're right. I didn't see any further progress for Edge from 10576. But then the only difference between 10576 and 10586 seems to be code optimization anyway. 10586 is very smooth.

  7. It took an hour and a half for me.

It is not as fast an upgrade as some of the insider builds. An hour and a half sounds about what I had. But then I remember how long it took to upgrade from XP to Vista (hours and hours and hours) and an hour and a half for a Windows 10 upgrade is really good time.

  11. OK. Thankyou for that info. I'll have the comfort of knowing that basic browser (Edge) features we still won't have, would have worked really SMOOOTHLY if MicroSoftBrain had incorporated them into this significant update in smoothness. Great... *really

  12. Microsoft has been up front about the early stage of Edge. For the past three months they have been focusing on refining the rollout version of Windows 10 at the end of July (Threshold 1). This release (Threshold 2) is not a new feature rollout but rather is finishing-work on what was rolled out in July. Now Restone begins, which will be much richer in new features, including the new features in Edge that are needed to bring Edge to a state where it can compete well with popular browsers. Windows is now a service and the days of Big Bang rollouts and service packs is over. Everything from here on will be incremental.

  14. What you have seen are the cumulative updates. These contain hundreds of fixes but not many feature changes.

  15. You can turn off driver updates in the Insider build 10586 th2 (and it actually works now ) at Control Panel > System > Advanced systems setting > System Properties > HDWE > Device Installation Settings > select [ no your device may not work as expected ] . That same revision to advanced System Settings will probably be in the RTM th2 public update aka 10586 th2 maybe via cumulative updates instead of downloading an installer this week if they don't put a simple toggle in the settings UI app. Right now in 10586 th2 it looks like like this :

We Should see this ^^^ or a simple settings toggle in the th2 general release update to RTM maybe this week more likely this ^^^^ and not something as easy as a settings > on/off toggle though ☻
