Windows 10: but want to downgrade to windows 10 (pro i guess). How do I wipe it, will it damage my...

I am stuck with a lenovo legion 5 pro that has not my proffered windows after dealing with so many other computers and getting replacements. I was told changing the OS won't hurt the warranty but idk. Personally I want to downgrade it. But I have a horrible feeling I will mess up and break my $2000 laptop. Will downgrading break my laptop since it won't be registered or something or will the laptop always read it as wrong windows and just have the look of windows 10. I have no idea what im doing and lenovo and microsoft support are not really helpful so I come looking to reddit for advice on windows 10 and downgrading. Did anyone ever downgrade their gaming laptops from other to 10. Also my laptop cpu and gpu are not 12th gen.

So you have a software download of Windows 10 Pro with no product key.

Is that correct?

Then you say:

If you already have Windows 7 why download Windows 10 Pro if you don't want to use Windows 10 Pro??

If by some chance you mean that you bought Windows 10 Pro and you want to downgrade it for free to Windows 7 Pro, you can't.

Windows 10 Pro had to be a preinstalled OEM license.

Thanks for your quick response and help, But I was told that if I inserted the Windows 10 Pro product key into the activation section it will be downgraded automatically like the following steps:

1. Open the Settings app and click Update & Security.
2. Open Activation and click Change product key.
3. Enter your Windows 10 Professional product key and click Next.
4. Restart the computer after the new product key is activated.
