Windows 10: Button/Shortcut to Trigger Check online for updates from Microsoft Update

Dear community,I would like to create a button or a shortcut that would automatically trigger: Settings > Update & Security > Check online for updates from Microsoft UpdateWhat I could find online is to create a shortcut to ms-settings:windowsupdate but this only opens the Windows Update settings page. I would like to know if there is a way not only to open that page but to also launch the update so that it starts automatically downloading and installing the updates. Also, I would like this to happen with a user account with no admin rights. Do you know how I can create such a button

To turn off windows updates in windows 7 follow these steps:

Click the start button, in the search box type in 'windows updates', click on 'windows update'
in the search results list, in the left side of the windows update window click 'change settings'
then in the option bar select 'Never check for updates'.

I've done it!!!


I have created a Desktop shortcut that brings you straight to the "Check for updates" button in Windows Update, in the Settings app.
When you click/double click this shortcut, it will open Windows Update and all you need to do is hit the Return/Execute key.





Check for Updates Shortcut and Icon.zip

1. Download the shortcut pack.
2. Unblock in properties(right click).
3. Extract the contents.
4. Place the shortcut on your desktop.
5. Place the icon, somewhere where you will never move it(I have a folder extra for custom icons in my Users folder), but NOT on the desktop!
   
6. Open up the shortcuts properties and click change icon.
   
7. Browse to where you stored your Icon, and apply it.

Minor suggestion for Check for updates

No, I know that. Exactly where I suggest this to be changed, please note.
Sorry for not being clear.

The Check for updates small window currently does not show what I ask to be added - program version. Please consider adding this. Many other programs have this, so I suggest for GPU-Z to have it too.
