    Right. I did make that post and it was helpful. But one of the reasons I am looking for a different computer is that nothing I have tried (including many good responses to that and other posts) will make the HP boot to the DVD or USB. After many hours on Google, YouTube, etc. as well as a house call from my computer doctor I have concluded that it can't be done. I actually like the HP Pavilion for its speed and memory specs, but himmel Gott, What happens when I need to reinstall Windows or use a restore disk?

    I just had a problem doing a clean install on a Acer Aspire laptop. I used Rufus to make a bootable flash drive. No matter what I tried including different setting in Rufus the laptop always booted into Linux. Hitting the F12 key at bootup gave me the option to boot into Linux or boot with the flash drive. No matter what I tried the laptop kept booting to Linux. I solved my problem by using the Media Creation Tool from MS to make the bootable flash drive. Linux is now removed and my laptop is running Windows 10 Home. *Smile
