Windows 10: C++ 2012 update KB3119142

my desktop running windows 10 version 1511 (OS build 10586.164)
update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 update 4 redistributable package (KB31191142)
had this update everyday for last 4 days and today update history says it been updated 4X
anyone know whats causing this

I suppose, it were either #3 or #4 or both that cause the problem to appear again.

 

Continuious downloads of "Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Package (KB3119142)"

Did the migration to Windows 10 home version 6 months ago. Then received the Windows 10 upgrade just last week. For the past week have received continuous downloads of "Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Package (KB3119142)"
, 50 of them.

It occurs every times I check Updates. Five days ago, went to updates and there were updates available, did download and got 11 copies of "Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Package (KB3119142)" back to back. Couple days ago
received 10 more copies of the update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Package (KB3119142). Every single one of them "successful download". and it continues to this day.

Any idea what's going on?? Stedman.......

I need to do this again since it does reappear when an update occurs.

Update: I just tried that method and it works like a charm.
Just repair all of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 update 4 redistributable package entries.. and restart.

have now done it and rebooted
counted how many I had today did update and so far no updates of that file

 

this problem is recurring again
last week had 6 updates on one day and followed the instructions and was fixed until today and 7 updates followed instructions and no more updates
anyone know why this would keep recurring

 

You might have to follow the same process again. When I get new updates from the insider program I do it first thing and that error doesn't occur.

my desktop not on insider only my laptop on insider and so far not had this problem on laptop
