Windows 10: C and D drive swapped after Windows 10 Reinstall, now slow

So my computer crashed a few weeks ago giving me "no bootable device found" or something very similar. I was able to reinstall windows 10 and get back into the computer, however the C drive and D drive reversed themselves and I also couldn't get access to all my documents, videos, and pictures. At this point it was on 1 drive instead of 2. I took it to a repair shop and he fixed and cleaned it, which I think accidentally removed all those files. He then got the 2 drives back, but they reversed which one was the main one. The 1 TB one was originally my D drive and the smaller one was my C drive

I followed the steps but I noticed that Windows 11 was working really slowly. I looked on Task Manger and it looks like my drives have swapped? Originally my C drive was the SSD and D drive was HDD but now they have swapped so C Drive is HDD and D is SSD.

How can you swap your drives?

Hello, I know there are lots of topics about changing C and D drive but none seem to be the exact issue I am having.

I just got a new laptop for work and I have two SSDs. C drive is 2 TB and the D drive is 1TB. I work within dropbox with very large project files and previously I have only had dropbox files save to the D drive and had the C drive to do everything else. What I want to do is have the 2TB of storage for the D drive and the 1TB of storage for the C drive. Is it possible to to be able to move the default program/start up files to the D drive and then swap drive letters?

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

There is no method in Windows to do this, but you could backup all the files from the D drive, then wipe the D drive and use a 3rd party utility like the free trial version of Macrium Reflect to clone the C drive onto the D drive, then in BIOS, change the boor order so the D drive is the primary boot device, and finally wipe the old C drive so you can use it as a data drive, it is a bog job and it may be best if you have an IT team in your company, get them to do this for you, especially because you use DropBox to sync files.
