Windows 10: C drive Disk space issue due to using the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool to reinstall...

I have been having problems with my laptop's mobile hotspot. So on the community forums, I posted my query and after various suggestions, I got told to perform a repair upgrade while following the instructions of a Microsoft moderator. I did exactly that. My windows got successfully repaired/upgraded. The hotspot problem didn't go away but I noticed that my C drive suddenly had 20-25 GBnot exactly sure of the size of space gone. There's a bunch of new folders in there that I don't remember ever seeing like a 21 GB folder named Windows.old and 4 GB folder named ESD that I think is the ISO file. I need to get back that space. Can I directly delete some of these new folders or should I do something else? Please help.

disk space reduced after media creation tool

One of the possible reasons why your disk space was reduced is due to an unallocated disk space on your partitions. For us to isolate your concern, we suggest that you check your device's partition. To do this, follow the steps provided below:

• Type Computer Management on Ask me anything and press
  Enter.
• Select Storage and click on Disk Management.

Windows 10 media creation tool tells “need 8GB free disk space”

Hi - the Windows 10 media creation tool tells me I need 8GB of disk space but I have a 64GB USB drive it does not seem to see. Any suggestions? I am trying to install on ASUS Eeebook X205TA with 7GB free on the machine.

Windows 10 media creation tool tells “need 8GB free disk space”

This is a really silly problem with the interface of the Media Creation Tool. I also just had to clear 8GB free on the C drive before it would let me get to the next step where it allowed me to select the D drive as the download location! So no real need
for the space on C drive at all.

What a stupid interface design issue, hard to believe it's still like that over a year later!
