Windows 10: C drive filling up and no update is happening

My C drive started filling up for apparently no reason. This has happened to me, if I remember correctly, at least three times before. Every time, I freed up a lot of space on my computer, more of the C drive was filled, and then an update happened, and suddenly I was left with a lot of empty space.I tried doing the same thing. First, I had to repeatedly free up significant space on my computer, and every time the space was filled up. I had to do this maybe 5 times. Now, finally my C drive has stopped filling up automatically. But no update is happening. I repeatedly restarted my computer. And

Hi!

My laptop's (Win 10 OS) C: drive fills up very fast. I've tried almost everything like:

1) Using cleaning software

2) Deleting temp, prefetch and cache files

3) Disabling Windows updates

4) Allocating more space to C:

5) Deleting software

But still within a month, or two C: fills up. I don't understand what's happening. Can someone suggest a fix?

Have you check if Windows is currently downloading an update?

C Drive Keeps Filling Up

Thanks. Extremely interesting article. I followed the steps as outlined, but when I was as the step to Stop the Windows Modules Installer Service, it was already stopped. So I was not quite sure how to proceed, so I abandoned the process. Since I had
already manually deleted most of the cab files, I now have 190 GB free space. I will closely monitor the free space to see how quickly it fills up, and if it fills up as quickly as the article suggests might happen, I will try again to follow the instructions
to see if I can get it to work. With the service already stopped, and set to Manual, if I get to that point again, do you have any suggestions on how to proceed? Thanks again for this very insightful article -- it sure explains a lot.
